  2. what i really want to know is how did you get that 18" level 6?
  3. what i did was weld a 1.5"x 1/4" x the lenth i needed, metal bar. to the top of the rear deck just along where my cut ended. never had a problem at all. car is a 02 lincoln LS
  4. You can rent a 4 1/2" inch grinder at The home depot for like 5 bucks an hour or maybe less, and just buy a couple of cut-off wheels there about 2 bucks each you might need 2, if this is your first time using a tool like this i suggest buying some safety glasses and a pair of thick leather gloves. Also just a tip when you are cutting, cut very slow and hold that grinder real good, real good.! Good Luck.
  5. how do you plan on 3 15"s when the biggest dimension on the box 40"
  6. ^^^^ i do the same. but what tool are you using to cut the hole.
  7. I cant wait for this thing to be out. I am in the middle of 2 builds and i wish this thing comes out before i am done with them. steve should have a pre-order special for SMD member that would be sick.
  8. i buy wholesale ddm hid kits and i also install them. let me just say that the rumors of them using one light bulb for many colors is a big lie. i can tell the difference between the 5k and 6k big difference in color. but overall they sell very good kits and are backed with a lifetime warranty.
  9. I design this box for you real quick, let me know if you like it. Box Dimensions Height - 14" width - 30" Depth - 18" Port Dimensions Height - 12.5" width - 3" length - 22" Box Stats cu.ft after displacement 2.62 @ 36.75Hz Add some bracing and that will bring you to 2.5cu.ft @ 37hz Cut Sheet List Top - 30"x18" bottom - 30"x18" sides - 12.5"x16.5" Back - 30"x12.5"
  10. are you putting the box behind 3rd row seats or behind 2nd row seats.?
  11. what are your max dimensions heigth, width, depth.
  12. give us the dimensions of where you want the subwoofers to be than we can help you.
  13. looks good. just make sure you bend your port left and right to keep your 6" width all the way thur.
  14. # of common port walls should be 3. your port area number should be somewhere between your port area range.
  15. well this sucks. i had the same issue this a lincoln LS i am doing right now. In order to use all the space available and to make my slot port work i had to cut that rear deck out. was worth it in my case, not many people i know are willing to cut there car like that, but i do anything for more bass..lol.
  16. pretty nice, truck looks better than ever. I also see that you didnt paint the little escalade switch box..lol.
  17. i would suggest doing sub back, port back on a box that small and small setup with a car like that. i would do sub back, port back.
  18. MDF is perfect its cheap, easy to cut, easy to put together and its a solid material, a pixieglass box would have to be really thick to work, cutting it would be a PITA N putting it together would take forever to pre-drill and screw everything together would suck not to mention the price on pixie. just my 2cents.
  19. i am a builder/designer and i can help you out, so can other people here at SMD but if you are looking for a sketch up type of deal with measurements for free, forget about it..lol. first i always like to start with what are your max dimensions you can build your box at?
  20. I am a designer/box builder of socal area. did some calculating and that ends each sub at around 1.8cu.ft after all displacement. And this is directly from kicker website (Min Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 3, 85) so i am going to say that its not going to work, not a good idea.
  21. I got a BTL fully loaded single slug motor.
  22. well i know SMD.com has pretty much any topic you need to read about car audio. but one thing that i been wanting to see that i think would be very interesting to veryone is all kinds of wiring connections. so please fellow members lets see those custom blocks and all kinds of wiring. Thanks.
