Man it was sad to read this.
Here is the quick version to keep it simple. Yes we all know neo is affected by heat. We also know higher grade neo is affected more so and at lower temps then lower grade neo. The DC sub has LOTS of neo, this means lower grade, means ability to with stand higher temps, longer play, more power.
The sub was designed for Jimbo, and any other high power bassrace, pychlone, demo type builds.
Now in the end how well it holds up to mad abuse is unknown. I will tell you we will find out in my truck.
Also i know in testing on 3000 watts for approx 15 minutes the coil was not even past warm to the touch. The sub will be rated 2500 rms more then likely so shouldnt be much of a problem.
Chode go for the Neos you will like them alot! :good:
WOW!! I dont thing anything else needs to be said. I doubt there is anyone who knows more about the DC Neo then this guy. Clay thanks for the post.... Cant wait til I can get my 4

Whats the cost for all the wood? You left that out!
-
chode,
I agree with you. I would like to have either subs, but I think the NEO is more suited for my needs aswell.
1. The price is better with NEO vs LVL 6
2. They weight less
3. I can use my current box
But you good with either one. F... what the haters think. There either to stupid to understand or cant afford them. I havent seen a valid point to NOT get either one.

If im not misstkae the NEO was designed around the XL not the lvl 5, so it should be GREAT for daily abuse. The ATeam told me it was more or less a XL that will take gobs of power. Another fact about Neo motors is there cooling is kinda simple. The more power tou throw to the sub and the more the woofer moves the better the cooling, as far as the woofer being fed clean power. Now if your clipping the dog shit out the woofer then yea its gonna die just like any other woofer.
Chode I think either woofer would be a Nice upgrade over what you have know. Both are outstanding woofers, just the price diff and a huge weight diff.

I think Ron Gooding is up there as one of the loudest as well.

I'm not a fan of that month lol.
Me either but I will settle for LVL 3 8's

Its a fun ride. Customer Service is # 1. And I dont think theres any one person on the planet that works as hard as RUSTY does building woofers.

Damn 170s from 2 18s and 10k!!! What are you putting in these batteries?
Its called DB dust.

Steve, dont worry I come to the conclusion people just need a reason to bitch, its either there mad cause they dont have it or they dont care for it. Do what makes you happy and F... what others think. They look fine to me, but I roll around with green HIDS.

Is there any way to just get a list of prices for all dc audio subs?
No theres not. But if you feel you need pricing for all there subs, go to your local dealer and they can give you pricing
-
^^^^^^^^ ALL TRUE!!!
-
For those prices you can get good subs. Why spend 2 or 3 hundred on a pair of cheap subs, until you save up for what you want? why not just buy 1 of what you want and add another later. Makes more sense then waste money on something you dont really want then loose when you try to resale them later
-
I would say use which ever you can get the best deal on. I have used both DD and DC. There both outstanding woofers and BOTH CS has always been GREAT to me. The 2 woofers you are looking at are very comparable in every aspec but price. I personally when with DC cause the price was better for what I was after and Im able to get my own recones without having to send the woofer in. If you have any questions you can PM me. I will be more then happy to help out any way possable.

maybe its the fact he lives out in the middle of no where!

Looks good. Also so advice if you feel like changing things up. When I was using the hatch of my 2000 xterra the best boz position that worked in mine wat sub up port back at the bottom of the box. That was compared to about 10-12 other box positions.
Nice job tho.

Dustin check your figures again. a single 10" areo is no where near 150sq. More like 78.5sq.
But I cant remember where I ordered these at but I can say I have 3 flares left is someone is interested
