ive looked just about every site on google. i still cant find anything that looks promising for under $100.
That's your problem- you're not going to tune a BMW for that.

A bolt is a thick piece of solid metal- it may be an alloy, but if that bugs you a lot, hit up eBay for some copper bolts

Well, I never used mine on any run of wire that you couldn't see the entire thing. Only on short runs such as alternator to front battery, or rear battery to amp. A short wire that would rarely have any reason to short, and if it did I could quickly find the reason. But as far as wires like from front battery to rear battery, I always used fuses. Too many things for the wire to rub against, and too many things to go wrong...i'd be tempted to just flip the breaker and go back to full tilt...and I don't want magic smoke.
You have a good point. I'll probably look into that actually. A good 300A for those short 1/0 runs up front...
-
True, but in the long run, you still save money...unless you just reset it and keep bumpin...that's when you tend to see magic smoke!
This is true...and they have been used in houses for ages without much issue. I just like knowing that fuses are restored to 100% effectiveness after replacement, whereas a circuit breaker may only be high 90s, but I am a stickler for details. And magic smoke =
-
Eh, from what I know, circuit breakers tend to become less effective over time, as they sort of 'wear out' each time they trip. Because they're based on a piece of metal heating up to a certain point, that metal undergoes stress from repeated heating/cooling processes.

I just received the Rockford Fosgate Power 1000 that Matt sold me- great guy. Every step of the process, he made sure things were going smoothly. As skittlesRgood said: no BS, no hassle, whatsoever.

No, she was. Before we got there though.
EDIT: I could be wrong. There was an ambulance leaving the area, but who knows if she was actually in it or not.

had to be a female driving
It was actually, though why she did it is still unclear. We did hear a little boom when we were in the pizzeria, like something falling off a truck. Didn't think much of it though...

My friend Scott and I were walking back to our dorms with a $5 pizza...typical college kid stuff, and we come across this. According to a girl nearby, the Expedition started accelerating out of a garage underneath our dorm building, crossed the street, and went down two sets of 5-6 stairs into the Law building. Pics from my phone:

Not a bad deal for you...I'd say go for it

Looks kind of like the cone/surround off an AQ HDC sub, basket from a DD product (or AQ for that matter), and of course that JL W7 motor.
-
Ahh gotcha. Thanks- this should be great when I get around to it.
-
If all goes well, I should be running a 12" Q with the cooling option in a sealed enclosure off about 900W. I know that the high Qts option is there for people running the subs sealed, but what would that do if I were to someday move to a ported enclosure? Does that option limit the sub to sealed enclosures only? Thanks.

If it's just for midbass...Sundown E8s perhaps
-
Ah yeah, didn't fully think out my response before posting.
-
I...think that would work, and yeah it makes sense that the final load would be 2.4 in parallel. My only question is since each sub has different resistance, would each get different wattage?
-
Hmm...the only thing I'd get confused with is how far the coil goes down into the gap. I guess you could take some measurements from the soft parts of one of the blown woofers...like checking the length from the bottom of the cone to the very end of the former. Other than that though, standard recone business
EDIT: Forgot to address the spider...once you know how much of the former should stick out the back of the cone, drop a spider in, let the cone/surround/former assembly rest in the basket and mark a line on the former where the spider needs to be epoxied? Ahh Forevrbumpn needs to get in here lol
-
I can't wait to see pics of this thing...
And you could try getting the recone direct from RE.

I don't recommend the Caliber, at least versus those other cars. It's not as sporty, if that's what you're looking for, and the only one I've driven was filled with brittle interior plastics...dunno if Dodge has switched it up or not since then.

'Arsenal' is JVC's premium line- think Kenwood Excelon or Pioneer Premier. It's definitely a solid radio- the quality coming from a USB-connected iPod is amazing, and the internal amp isn't bad at all. One thing I like about it over some other radios is that it actually charges the iPod when it's plugged in- overall I'm very happy with it.
-
I've got a JVC Arsenal KD-AHD69...about $150 depending where you buy it. 5 volt pre-outs, though only 2 sets of them, USB interface w/iPod control, a really slick Burr Brown DAC (look it up), and a tri-color LED faceplate that lets it match any color scheme.

tonight is just a lucky night i guess.
glad you guys didnt get hit
Thanks man. We ended up just heading back to our dorms after that, but there was constant looking over our shoulders kinda spooked

So I was walking around South Oakland (just outside downtown Pittsburgh) with four of my friends at about 10:15 tonight, and you know how sometimes when you hear a car coming down the street you just turn to look? Kind of instinctively, kind of to check out what kind of car it is. Well, this time, I turned to see a white 90s Celebrity in the process of crossing the double yellow toward us, doing 35-40. I kinda froze, and watched is it proceeded maybe 20 more feet in the oncoming lane, then smack into a parked VW Beetle. I've seen accidents before, and I know many of you have, but it was LOUD! After hitting the Beetle, the Celebrity rolled backward across two lanes (we were on a slight hill) and into a stone wall on the other side. Two of my friends managed to wake the driver up and talk to him while I called 911. The driver had a nice gash on his forehead from the lack of airbags and not wearing a seatbelt, and he definitely smelled like liquor....paramedics came, and he went to the hospital. My favorite part of the evening was an EMT telling the guy "Put that damn cigarette out, you got all kinds of fluids coming from your damn car!" Moral of the story is DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE, and WEAR A ********** SEATBELT!
Pic:
Scary thing is, if we hadn't stopped for a sec to debate what we were gonna do that night, we would've been next to that parked Beetle when it got hit...

One thing I have to say about that 911- it's sexy, but don't spill a drop when putting brake fluid in, or those Audison amps could go bye bye...
