If you still have this when I sell my desktop PC (2-3 weeks from now), I might look into it. Will be getting a vehicle of my own in maybe a year (I'm 18, and share it with my siblings) and I am beginning to stockpile the basics.
-
If I could like that comment I would. I've never really been into any other 8s...the kickers I had were pretty boring. I think slapping two of these X8s into the TSX I'm looking at will be pretty bangin.
-
Getting more excited about these each day..!
-
Oh all right, I'm at school in Pittsburgh but live in the Buffalo area. But yeah, how much would you say the spark plugs/fuel pump/radiator fans/etc relying solely on your batteries has affected your charge?
-
It's cool to see all these new neo subs coming out...Fi with their new BTLs, and DC with these 5s. Good work with the new setup! Where in NY are you?
Oh, and it must be cool having enough battery to be able to drive around without an alt
-
Holy hell. Thatsalottawoofa.
As far as the magnet boot logos, I think two horizontals would look better than several verticals, but that's just me.
Keep up the amazing work, this is going to be nasty
-
may even beef up the motor even more than we have been thinking about prior -- why not go crazy, huh ?
Long as the price doesn't go crazy along with you
Eager to see said drawings!

Ah okay- I was just thinking it has to be semi-serious business with the kind of motor force and/or xmax this thing should have
-
Oh nice. Any hints as to what the cone's made of?
-
Expect an order from this guy. This looks like it could be legendary as far as 8s go.
P.S. A black basket on these would be niiiice
-
Is it me, or does the design of the basket look like it prevents inverted mounting? I'm referring to the little ridges that protrude out on the outside edge near the screw holes- am I right?
EDIT: Oh wait....kinda forgot about dem gaskets.
-
The basket makes this woofer look a lot like a tiny SMD (or LMS Ultra, etc- it just resembles the big 6-spoke). Obviously the motor will be hugely different, but still

I am seriously going to buy one of these in 2.5" ferrite form ASAP.
-
Will be looking into one of these for a little build in a TSX...this seems like it'll be perfect
-
What part of ny are you from? Did you do the key dance to check for codes?
I'm in Buffalo- and no I haven't done that. It might be too late at this point...the car's at the dealer and I go back to school on Monday. But yeah, to the other guys- I'm familiar with battery harness/relay kits, and they'll be included on all HID installs I do from now on. Thanksgiving break is when I set up my cousin's S10 with his 6000ks lol.
-
He doesn't want me paying for the repairs, but I feel a little like I should. Ah well, I'll just make it standard procedure to throw in a relay harness in all my HID installs from now on.
Now, on my future TSX with factory HIDs...hmmm
-
All right, so a friend of mine has an '08 Dodge Avenger, which of course has halogen (9006) bulbs in the low beams. He says he wants HIDs, so I point him to DDM Tuning, cuz I've heard good stuff about them. (also not interested in spending bazillions at 'high end' places)
They arrive, and I go ahead and plug them in to the stock harnesses. They work, but the next day he comes back with the passenger side flickering. I switch sides with the ballasts for shits and giggles, and of course the driver's side then starts flickering. Meanwhile, I have an off-brand 5000k kit sitting around, which also happens to be 9006. I replace the DDM ballast and bulb that were flickering with the off-brand and leave the other DDM on the passenger side. Fire up the lights. They go on for about half a second, then nothing. No exterior lights work, engine won't turn over, and a 'no bus' error appears in the screen under the speedo. The fuck?? Running two different HID kits throws out your whole canbus system?!
Guy gets back to me, and apparently whoever's repairing it wants $750 incl. labor. REALLY?
Edit: the part blown was the integrated power module
-
Yeah...ASUS Rampage and Maximus boards are ****ing awesome. Obviously you'll have NO problem running crossfire on any X58 board though.
-
^ That is my humble Antec 900, which I have painted textured black. It's a shame I have to get rid of it somehow, as I'm going MicroATX to make college dorming a little easier with a desktop.
Current specs are as follows:
Mobo: ASUS P5Q Pro (soon to be a DFI LP P45 JR)
CPU: Intel E8500 @ 4.3GHz, 1.26v (453FSBx9.5)
RAM: 4GB Corsair Dominator @1086MHz
GPU: XFX 8800GTX (w/Acer 22" 1680x1050 LCD)
HD 1: 30GB OCZ Core V2 SSD (boot drive)
HD 2: 160GB Western Digital (I don't keep as much pr0n as the rest of you)
Sound: ASUS Xonar D1
PSU: Silverstone Strider 700W
I know it's all yesterday's news, but I still love it and it's fast enough for me.
-
Crossfire some 5770s for sure. That is, if you've got the mobo for it.
-
3.5mm digital output you say? The ASUS Xonar D1 has that....I run one in my desktop and it sounds amazing.
Rest of the specs look nice! For the money, you can't beat an AMD quad.

No. The Alienware of today is nothing like the Alienware of 5+ years ago.

The rims look DAMN good, even without the drop!
-
Steve, will you be running the same offset all around on the IS, or do you wanna run sort of a deep dish on the back wheels? Just wondering, cuz I've always thought that looked good on RWD coupes/sedans.
And I just thought to ask- are there any Futurevision products in the Lex's future?
