  1. I've already made a deal with myself...If I ever get another "sports" car that I'm not gonna bulk it down with tons of stereo weight and destroy it with tons of bass....

I personally would upgrade the underhood battery to a decent sized one...something comparable to a hc1400 and go with a single 10" or 12" woofer ported with 600-1000wrms run components front and rear, tons of sound deadener and focus on a clean install with some throttle but more SQ oriented.

    I would go with a RF Power1000 (5 channel amps typically does 100wrm x 4 @ 4ohm, and 900wrms x 1 @ 1ohm) just to keep the install clean and simple.

^This. Forget my idea, wL's got it. That RF all-in-one amp will save space and a bit of wiring. You *could* add in a higher-amp alt to the mix, but at least do the big three. A single DC lvl 3 would be nice, or maybe a Fi SSD or an AQ SDC.

  2. Anyone who owns a Cherokee of any year knows that the rear drum brakes are garbage. I definitely know that about mine, which is actually kind of a special model (Limited, 2001 (last year built), skid plates, tow hooks, transmission oil cooler, heavier-duty suspension -- all factory)

I've begun to notice that the rear drums are barely doing any work, so instead of adjusting them and just putting up with it, I decided to swap to rear discs. I'll be using the caliper brackets/backing plates from a '96 Grand Cherokee (have parts in-hand) and the parking brake cables from the older (rounded) Liberty...not the new boxy one. (have those on order at the dealer - should have them in tomorrow) Aside from that, the axle seals, rotors, calipers, lines and pads will all be brand new.

Pics to follow sometime soon...let me know what you think

  3. sparkle is just a OEM car with their boxing =| its no different whatsoever

What I'm referring to is the lack of customer service from that company. Plus the huge rate of DOA cards they happen to make...

I always recommend XFX and EVGA to people...bulletproof warranties and good shit overall. XFX stepped into the ATi market now, so now people can get ther HD4xxx and HD5xxx cards with no worries. ASUS and Sapphire are also good for the ATi folks.

  4. An Alienware is a dressed up Dell with some blue LEDs and maybe a liquid cooling system thrown in. It's still made of the same cheap internals at the end of the day.

Coming from a computer hardware engineering major, just telling you guys I know a thing or two.

If you're looking to only spend somewhere between 500 and 1000, I'd suggest building it. There are so many tutorials out there...plus for that money you'd be able to get FAR better components if you bought them all and built it up.

    My $.02

  5. I would stay away from them. I've heard a lot of times that their systems have sub par build quality, or simply aren't shipped in adequate packaging. If you want a custom computer from a reputable company, I'd look at some of the models from Digital Storm or Velocity Micro. A quick google search will get you to their homepages of course.

  6. but you want a new one so here you go....

the card linked above me is SOOOOO much better in GAMING . but for internet surfing and watching movies theres no difference whatsoever.

I would still not for the life of me buy anything from Sparkle.

And the 9600GT is by no means a power-hungry card...

  7. So years ago I filmed a video of me and my cousin putting ~120W through a 3" "woofer" we took out of a 2.1 PC speaker set. I decided to put it on YouTube afterward, and it's gotten something like 79,000 views. I signed in to my account, and was met with a notification that YouTube wants me to be a partner, so they place ads on that video (or others) and I earn some fraction of a cent per view from then on. If anyone can further explain this process to me, it'd be great! Like the title says, I'm really not sure what to expect.

DISCLAIMER: I sound young as hell in most of my videos...I'm in college now, those were made a while back when I had the time for that sh*t

  8. I've been wondering myself actually about the differences between each kind of competition. I know there's the IASCA, USACI, bassrace, and for some reason I'm blanking on the rest. (long day, don't hate) What I'm basically asking is can someone make a sticky listing out all the 'leagues' of competitions and describe each one so that those of us who have never competed or are looking to compete can see what each one entails? Like the basic rules, popularity, cost, etc. of each one.

    Just a suggestion.
