I will order a pair before the presale ends. Planning for them to be in a PWK box false floor style in the cargo area of my 4runner.
I've got 2 E-8s in a simple ported box and they kick ass! Love the 8s!
By chance do you have a vid of these 8's, really dig the E-series! They are handling some really good power
Up in my build log as of yesterday...

Bump!
I got in just before pre-order closed!

Any electrical upgrades? Big 3? How's the dimming?

Where is there more info/ pics of these things? I cant find em anywhere.
-
I thought I'd seen them before but can't find it now, are there T/S parameters somewhere?
-
So about 6 months to be able to buy them?
-
With those terminals ^^^ you don't need anything haha. Just remove insulation and put it in the terminal.

audioananonymous does some pretty good machine work! I got my dual inputs for my SAZ3500D made by him...

Looks awesome. But why?
I could make something but I definitely can't stay in the price range of the ones that are shown.
As tempting as that sounds, I need to spend less. But that gives me great ideas, if I ever get access to a mill or something I will see what I can come up with.

Knuconcepts has some beefy terminals
Yeah knu has one similar to the second tsunami I posted but it's twice the price. And the both conduct electricity so I was just gonna go the cheaper route.
But the rest of my wire will be knu.

Looked through darvex already didn't find what I wanted. Thanks though.
Yeah looks like I'll be doing in line like a normal person haha.
Do you guys put fuses on the alt side of the big 3?
And how do you decide between ANL, MAXI, MIDI, AGU?
-
My stock battery terminals are pretty beat up and I don't think they will stand 2 runs of 0/1 hanging off of them. I am very specific in the terminal configuration that I need.
For positive I would like to have two 0/1 outputs with one or both of them being fused at the terminal itself. One will be for 0/1 from the alt and one will be for 0/1 to a distro block to the amps. Also need an extra 8 or 4 out to run my factory stuff.
I found one that works but only has a single 0/1 out here...
Tsunami TPBT-P (tpbtp) Positive Battery Terminal with One 1/0 or
And found another will all the outputs I need but no fuse holder. Good price too. If I cant find the perfect one then I'll end up getting these and running an external fuse holder like a normal person.
Tsunami TSBT-PN (tsbtpn) Positive and Negative Battery Terminal
Anyone got any ideas on where I can find what I'm looking for?

You could get some big deep cycle batterys an wire em together. And charge them when the amps off. Those batterys should last awhile. They run a trolling motor for hours on my boat an that's just one battery.
For the price of the deep cycles I could just buy a real power supply or amp haha.
I put my old battery on it that's been sitting in the garage for a year and the voltage is alot more stable now. Seems to stay in the 13s unless I turn it up then goes to 12s.
-
Really... I think I have an old battery laying around. Been in the shop for a year probably idk if it's still good. I'll try it.

I know I've seen this done on the forum before but most of the time with a battery in between. Is this going to smoke my amp or charger? I have it playing on some home stereo speakers and it is suprisingly clean. At first I just wanted to test the amp and make sure it works cuz it was a yard sale find now it sounds good and I want to keep it there lol.
I hooked up my voltmeter to it and it never goes below 12 on rock. Sits at 14.5 on low volume levels. If I put a hip hop track on with heavy bass it drops to 11.5-11.25 on bass notes. This is on the 2 amp charger. If I put it on the 10amp it goes to like 16.5v
I can watch the charger pull when bass hits.

Is that price for one or a pair on the beyma?
-
I was looking at both of those too but 8ohm wont work because I don't have enough room in my door to fit 2 and the tang band is way too deep.
-
DD makes a nice 1/2 din active crossover..havnt used it looks promising.
Yeah that would be nice and it would fill the empty 1/2 din space I have but they are about $270. Maybe later.
-
Oh I read it wrong. I thought you said ditch the Sony HU because it will have no mids. My bad, reading too fast. What would you suggest for mids?
-
Better? Vifa 1" Silk Dome
Any comments on the mid I chose? other suggestions?
And the DD 5&1/4 coaxs are about $99 so I'll probably get a pair of those for the rear.
-
ditch the sony HU. those mids will have no midbass. the tweeters will probably sound harsh. try to get a 1" tweeter. i dont personally like metal domes but thats up to you.
Stuck with the Sony for now. I'll get an Alpine when I can afford it.
Why the 1"? And why don't you like metal.
-
im going to disagree with skippy.
that amp has some great crossovers and it will be able to do your filtering. channel 3/4 has a bandpass option where you set the subsonic and lowpass filter. and channel 1/2's HPF goes all the way up to 4500hz. you wont be winning any SQ comps but it will work just fine as a crossover.
as for time alignment... ya that will need a processor and that will cost a good amount plus they are much more complicated to tune. but you will have more crossover options, time alignment, and an EQ.
So hypothetically if I wanted to use a processor what would you suggest I use?
back speakers, put in some decent coaxials if you really want some noise back there. just use it as some rear fill, they dont need to be on very loud at all. and at the low volume they should sound decent.
Ok so heres what I got going now. If any of you see anything wrong or something you would change let me know.
Sony HU --> Clarion 7-band EQ -->
AQ 4x90 --> A pair of Eminence Alpha-6Cs and a pair of Vifa aluminium dome tweets.
AQ1200D --> A pair of AQ SDC2.5-10-D4s
An old Sony XM-2540 that I had laying around. Briged to 60rms x 2 @ 4ohm for a pair of 5&1/4 coaxs for the rear. No idea what speaker I want yet. Suggestions?
-
Sounds good. Thats what I will do. Thanks for your help.
Just out of curiosity, are you running an active setup? And if so, what equiptment are you using?
Who's waiting on Sa 8s v2 ?
in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!

Not waiting anymore! Holy crap these things are heavy! I'm mounting them horizontally, do I need to support the motor?
