Its the little things
Im surprised hes letting you work on anything.
I ask them to do 3 simple tasks
Either you know how or you dont.
Pm me these three tasks Ray, i wanna see if im up to par. ive been an installer for almost 3 years now. but a lot of quick stuff, like deck n 4 or amp n sub. most of the custom work ive done has been on my own vehicle

isnt 4 12's more cone area than 3 15s?
One 12 is about 113 sq in, one 15 is about 178 sq in. So 452 vs 534. Pretty big difference, but if he can fit 3 15s, he could fit 6 12s. That would be a bit more cone and similar enclosure volume

Same excursion, go for cone area.
The excursion deal would come into play with say two Sony xplods vs say an AA SMD. only comparing excursion here, not cone area so thats why I didn't specify what size driver

Most entry level woofers are low excursion vs higher rated ones. That's not always true, just an observation. That being the case, excursion should be accounted for in a comparison like this. Honestly I'm not sure of the calculation exactly, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in

That's a beautiful woofer.
On a serious note, at what point does a cone like this benefit SPL wise? What's the biggest advantages? I can think of strength and lighter, so less mass to move, but what else? What makes this kind of cone better?

Soundstream has one. It's not a flip down per say as the screen doesn't move. But its a single din radio with a double din screen, screen hangs down though. Honestly though I wouldn't spend my money on it.

ive only contacted psi about them and they could put together a recone. although they only have dual 4 coils for them

magnet is same for all of them. idk why they list different wattages but magnets are same

i have 8 memphis c3 magnets. was going to use them for a build but plans changed. coil is 2.67". only thing odd about them is theyre a 4 bolt pattern, two of the holes will line up on standard basket. other two will need to be drilled out. pretty easy mod for someone good with tools. ive lost interest in these so they need to go. im asking $35 shipped each conus please no trades

i think thats too big of a box for them. according to your specs on torres your at almost 10 cubes for each enclosure. i would drop at least a cube, maybe 2. tune to mid 30s if possible
also add a triangle into the port, even if it isnt to lengthen the port it will help direct airflow.

sorry bro but its pretty obvious in this pic that its wired parallel. safe to assume the other negative goes to the negative coil on the right side in the pic. hes probably running a dual 2 ohm so hes getting 1 ohm at the amp
