  1. No, you can't run it on stock electrical components.

You need a different regulator for the alt that will allow it to charge to at least 16.1v. Plus you need to keep in mind that whatever amps, head unit, processor, etc you purchase needs to be 16v stable.

Plus you need to do some homework and calling around to see what the working voltage range on you vehicle's components are. ABS, ECU, Transmission (if electronically controlled), etc

He can charge 16 Volt´s and work with a stepdownmodule for the normal electricity.

  2. LATEST UPDATE: I woke up to this email. Looks like its finally gonna air in the USA!

    Hi Steve,

    Hope you are well!

Just to let you know the series will finally start to go out tomorrow at 10pm on Discovery Science in the US. It is called Outrageous Acts of Science. Here is a link to the site - http://science.discovery.com/tv-shows/outrageous-acts-of-science

    Hope you enjoy it!

    David

Does your segment air tomorrow? or will it be later on?

Man, you were too drunk to be on the computer. Stop drinking and typing! Lmfao. No one knows. It can be the first thing on the first episode or could be the last thing on the last episode.

    Nope Purple is stoned it´s

  3. Bladeice is my only information too, but maby it´s cheaper to direct import them SE ship´s world wide, but don´t forget that you have "maby" to pay sale taxes.

In Germany we have to pay 19 % Saletax on item and shipping if both over 32 €.

Link to SE Ebay shop http://www.ebay.de/itm/SMD-DD-1-dd1-Distortion-Detector-Analyzer-by-Steve-Meade-Designs-/360608737564?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53f5f4a91c

  4. I think it´s a failure, that someone forget to drop or lift the price. Normal @ work, ask SE and im sure you get the lower price.

I found a vew failure´s on Ebay for example, that the titel offer´s a 2 K amp with a price near the model smaller and the discription of the item was for the smaller model.

I mailed them and the failure was the discription for the smaller model, not the titel and not the nice price.

  5. I guess you to go with the SA 8 sub´s, The E 8 v 3 is a 300 watt RMS sub the SA 8 are a 500 watt RMS. You have a 2.2 K amp it´s not recommanded to overpower sub´s.

Sundownsub´s are known to take a beating sometimes twice than they rate, gains set with an O-scope or DD-1. Obviously losses with imprise and so on, i would go with

the SA 8´s they matching better to the power of your amp.

  6. If you want to replace your batt under the hood, choose a D2400 for under the hood, the XP series have no heatprotection, so no use for under the hood.

Where did that come from? I said in my last post that only the d5100r would fit because of the reverse terminals needed. That's the only option I have for under the hood with Xs power unless I alter all of my cables which I'm not doing. The only thing I'm concerned about at this point is finding adequate battery bank to hold a good voltage for at least a demo full tilt. Obviously I'd need like 3 d3100's to support 5k full tilt for long extended periods with only 200 amps to charge it. But I'm looking for enough to get me through a demo (45-60 sec full tilt on music) and then let it charge back up... Rinse and repeat. Remember this is only 2 batteries in the trunk, and weight is my limiting factor. So I'm trying to get enough electrical for the least weight. I'm not saying I want to put a xp950 and hope it supports 5k which is what some people think I'm saying.

    Example would be like

    2 d2400's

    2 xp2500's

    2 d2700's

    Or Any other combinations.

If you can only place the 5100 under the hood than go with the 5100, in your first post you say you wannt to go with group 24 batt´s. In the trunk you can place XP series, that´s

wgat they are build for. Choose the batt´s for the trunk from the price. Here a vid what 500 amp´s do to the big boy´s.
