  1. Do you have room for 2 subs ?

You can easily run 2 bls with 1500 watts, but it won't give you max output !!! Maybe you could still beat your friend's cvr's.

Try at least a 2000 watts amp to give each sub 1000 watts (like they're ratings say).

Just one bl can handle 1500 watts rms of non clipped signal. Get a well built custom box : it's the most important part !

  2. $2000 and you want...5000watts rms ? Maybe, ONLY if you find real gooooood deals on used equipments !

1 hu + 2 amps + speakers + subs + wiring(rcas, power, grd), accessories + box building + ...... And you have to install it yourself. For 2 grands?

Start thinking smaller, with the possibility to upgrade later.

You have a good amount of money to start a good system you won't have to sell to upgrade.

Read as much as you can, here, and ask some questions if need be.

    Good luck

  3. your first system and you want to do 5000 watts are you doin it yourself or havin a shop do it? that kind of power needs serious electrical an alternator batteries 1/o wiring it gets exspensive real quick. Why don't you figure out your budget or how much money you have to spend and the kind of vehicle your gettin to plan a system for it im thinkin more realistic would be two twelves or fifteens and around a thousand watts some nice coaxials in the front door or components on a fourchannel amp

    x2

    x3

    x4

    lol

  4. Well in the email they sent out they did state that the prices have been rising for a while now and they are forced to increase costs to keep up, so I think what you said about holding off for as long as they could is correct.Oh well.Who needs Dynamat when you have SecondSkin anyways ;) Thanks Ant.

Some people wants to pay more for less product, with the dynamat logo on it!!!

More seriously, I think Dynamat is well known(lots of ads, tv shows,...), and it's sold quite everywhere, not only on the internet. So, you might have heared of Dynamat and not Secondskin.

Some people call this product dynamat, whatever brand it is !

  5. You have voltage drop most likley because you are running stock grounds in your engine bay. They are not big enough for the amount of juice you are trying to pump through them... so replace the engine block ground, the frame ground, and also the + alt wire. Which is called the big three.

    x2

check all the grounds(for the amp, the battery,...). Even if you don't do the big 3.

Something is going bad with the grounds, because this is not enough power at all to have voltage drops.

  6. ok so i have an SAE1200d and i was wanting to get a SAX amp to match it for the highs... but thats the thing they dont look the same... the SAX line matches the SAZ line as far as looks...

to me it looks like it is just a plate on top with the sundown logo cut into it and it is held down by two screws.... like i said... thats what it looks like in the pics... anyways i was wondering if that "plate" could be taken off and a white Sundown vinyl put in its place so that it looks more like the SAE line? also are the Casings the same color or is there a difference?

You can take that plate off, it just holds with 2 screws.

  7. I have 1000 watts rms on my sub, and 200+ watts on my front speakers. With my stock electrical system; I have form 0 to 0.1 voltage drop when playing at full tilt. So, 250 watts : a joke for a car !!!

What gauge size do you run on your batt for + AND for - . They should be the same size, and big enough (try some 4 ga at least).

You can do the big3, but it seems that you have another problem : 250 watts is too low to make your voltage drop.

  8. You don't need to use caps.

Maybe you have a blown pico fuse like a lot of Pioneer hu.

I fixed mine last week for less than $50 locally ! I'm so happy !!!

If you're in a hurry : try to ground your rca's on a solid ground point on the car (behind the hu). Use some small speaker wires. That may help you reduce the noise, but it won't fix it totally.

If your hu is still on warranty, you could send it to Pioneer.

It's just a guess, because I am not sure that's your problem. You're a so good writer !!!

  9. Looking to get a SAZ-1500D to run on a DC Level 4 12". Any recommendations on where I can get one for a good price?

    Thanks guys

soundsolutionsaudio.com : they have it on their shop. I have already bought 4 Sundown amps from them. And they are shipped directly from Sundown !!!

I got them, each time, in about 5 days (I live in a small french island in the Caribbeans !!!).

  10. The BL's should be good with that amp : they don't need to get full power to play well and please you, even if they can take up to 1500 watts (with no clipping).

Get the BL's instead of the ssd's, if you can afford them. Or get one first, and the second when the money come. It will just cost you some wood/mdf.

    Take a look at the *** woofers : 2 trash's would be great on that power, or 1 or 2 junk's !!!

  11. If you add more power to the supply, then you are going to get better results. The alternator will charge the battery fine, of course an upgraded HO alternator will charge it back faster.

Like was said in the thread you started before YES a new battery will improve your system.

Its just like in a race car.............. you are going to get better performance running 110 octane in it than you are 87 octane!

    Thanks for your quick answer.

My next step will be a new battery, and the only choices I have in my country are XS or maybe Optima!
