Try to talk to woofersetc.com on eBay.com
They ship everywhere.
There are Sundown dealers in Italy, in Russia too.
Too much spelling errors on this French site to order from them. That doesn't look serious. ??

I like single sub setups. I would look more toward subs like the Zv4, or nightshade in 15", to be loud and clean.
-
It should be hard to fit 2 15s subs in an Astra trunk. You'll need to take the rear seats out and drive a 2 seater !
One 15" ported will fit.
We have Astra in my country. The trunk is just regular.
I don't think the Xs would be louder than your system, but who knows ?
-
You can recone this N2 in 12". And keep your amp.
I want to try a SVC amp too. A Zv4 should handle 3k, but is it necessary for daily ? I don't know.

Try 2 12" subs with that net volume. You have power for 2 subs !
-
Got a couple of these getting ready to be in action this year in competition. Things are going to get real!
A couple ???!!! So, you have a "car" to run those beasts ?
I'd love to see that.
Congratulations

Tuned in.
Nice work so far.
That box looks good and strongly built.
I'm waiting for the frontstage build.

From CVRs to XLs on 5K : that's a huge gap ! You'll love it, and your car may hate it.
Personnally, I think it is too much A 3.5K on 2 Level 4's would already have been very very loud.
An alternator like that will be a good choice, but I think you need a few Group31 batteries(2, 3 ?) in the back, with your Group 34 under the hood.
Of course you'll have to do the big 3.
-
Nice topic.
Thank you :-)
-
Port tuning is too high for the lows !!! 37 Hz !
Try a lower tune on your current box : a longer port will reduce box volume. But it could be easy to do, and provides very good results.

No one offers XS batts down her :-(
We can find Optima, Kinetic(sometimes), Batcap, Lifeline, and some unknown ones.
I'd like to run a 3400 under my hood, and a XP3000 or D31000 in the hatch area. I'm not the only one in my country !
Maybe some day, we'll find a way to receive those batts in Martinique (France, FWI).

Nice move Sonic !
I thought you already have Sundown, like others.
Amazing customer service : I loved when you answered my email on sunday mornings !!! You guys don't sleep ?!!!
-
Thanks Sonic for my first purchase on your site ;-)
I bought a Nuforce Airdac recently.
The product shipped super fast.
Great product for sure, great price, great customer service !!! I'll be back...
You made a new happy customer

If you have room for 2 15" subs, you should have enough room for an 18" .
But on the same power you'll be louder if you have more cone area and a good efficient box to compensate the lack of power.
Don't focus on power, but 1200 is not a lot for a level 5 !
My 2cts !

I'd get the sundown 2500.
3500 will be too hard on your electrical. You can have your batteries installed in the feet of the rear passengers, well secured so that they can't go anywhere.
Upgrade the stock battery.I'm sure you can find a good mechanics who can help you with your alt. You make atomic bombs in your country, what is an alternator ? Nothing !
As some other said, you could send the alt to Mechman or others, and let them rebuild it for you. It would be expensive for a Punto !
Wait until you have another car : a VW Golf would allow you to just buy an HO alt easily from the big manufacturers. For the custm, it's just an alt, no need to know it's an HO oneGood luck !
BTW I live near the USA, in the Caribbeans, but shipping seems to be as expensive as if I lwas living in Israel

Very nice ride. You did a great job on it.
This is a good gift for your son, but nothing expensive or too fancy. He doesn't have to drive a bad beater for his first car.How does he enjoy driving it ?
How do you feel to see him driving it ? You must be proud
-
1000-1200 w will be enough ! You don't need the 1500, but if you have the money, why not. It will give you some head room, not a bad thing at all, but it's not needed.
Get 2 D4 and a 1200 w amp. you will be good to go !If you want to be loud, build a box for that. Don't try to be loud with only adding power. It's expensive and inefficient at those levels of dBs.
Good luck

Congratulations. That is some really amazing work ! I love it !
You friend must be sooo happy.
Did he really understand all that work you've done for him ? (he only need to lok at your videos !).
-
tune lower, Trini guy !
and welcome
-
Can't sound bad using the passive filter made for them.
It will sound bad in an active setup if you don't know how to tune everything.
Active needs more tuning work, but can sound better when everything is set right.
Passive is the way to go if you don't want to mess anything.
I don't think it's a good idea to run such big amps for some comp sets. You will have to run it at lower impedance. I'd rather use 2 separate and smaller amps, like some 4 x 100 w amps. It may be wayyyy cheaper, and still sound sooo good !
-
Turn the gain down a little bit !
I thought I've read somewhere, Jacob F (Sundown boss) telling to never "think" about box rise (impedance rise) when listening to music. For spl it's ok though.
-
I bought a 270 XP for a friend's VW Golf, and he has the same issue : voltage too high for his taste, the car starts to do "funny" things.
Buuut Mechman told me that they need the alt to make a modification so that we can use their external voltage regulator. It's cheap though. But shipping is killing us, as we are far in the Caribbeans !
So I don't know what to do. Maybe add some more batteries : he uses 3 or 4 Optima blue, and needs more !
-
Cool story. Nice customer service at DC.
But those 2 shops are scarry !!!!! They could not set the gain right on an amp ?!!!
Before the DD-1 people could set the system with their ears. Maybe they were all deaf at those shops !!!
