Cross your sub higher, or your mids lower.
Nothing really covers 50-75 Hz ?
Get some better speakers. you don't need to run a 3-way set to sound good. A very good set of comps (2way) well installed on a powerful amp (to have headroom) and you're good to go.
I would save some more money and look at the Focal (at least the K series), Morel, JBL GTI, Dynaudio,...etc forget Hifonics, Audiopipe,... then you could sell your current speakers to someone locally.
-
Keep your Kicker amp, and be careful with the gain. Keep your PPI amp too !
Why do you want those mids & highs ? I would make it more simple with some good sets of components (Alpine type R or X, RF got some good ones too,...etc).
Did you ever listened to a setup like the one you want ? Try to run one or 2 comp sets, it must be enough for your system.
Good luck !

Nice work ! Good equipment and you got skills !!!!!
Take the caps out and even the rear speakers : it will be much better.
-
well i start with set the gains right with test tones an dd-1 and/or o-scope
i would guessmate you crossover setting on your amps or used cc-1
if you have an 7 or more EQ i would put the levels flat and run some pink noise and use an RTA
and then set your level
You use a lot of equipment to tune your system !
I just use my ears and a well recorded cd.
dd-1 and cc-1 won't save your life. You will still need to use your ears as all songs are not recorded the same. I don't even talk of bad mp3 songs that will sound bad whatever you do !

A 5500 watts amp should be a great match with 2 Zcons.
The 3500 would be better for 2 Xcons.
-
They have free box designs on their website. You can use the same box specs than the Xcon IIRC.
The BC 2000 is enough, but if your electrical is good enough for a 3500 w amp, go for it ! Turn your gain carefully. But this sub can handle much more power than rated, at least for burps.
If it's only for listening pleasure, your friend will love it with 2000 watts. Don't focus on watts, focus on an efficient box for this beast.

Did you try the JL Cleansweep ? With a stock h u it can be a good choice !

Beyma
It's a joke ?
I've never heared Beyma speakers I liked. The pro series or the simple ones : they are loud, but without midbass.
I hate them ! Maybe I can like some models one day ?!
-
The Crescendo amps seem to be good ones. Take a look at them. They're cheap and powerful.
If I did not already have my Sundown amps, I'd get some Crescendo's.
I did not like the 4 Ga input on the Rubicon 2500.1. I thought it was too weak for that power.
Good luck.
-
I know Hifonics is not the best, but I've never heared they were badder than AP ! Not saying it is wrong, just surprised by the answers.
To the OP : it won't make any difference. Save some money to get rid of this AP amp later !
I must admit that I don't like AP at all.

The car is fantastic.
I like that you was not afraid to cut some metal !!!
Nice work Mr Meade.
Just one question : why do you want to use 3 sets of comps in that car ? One could be enough, or 2. But 3 is a lot !!!
-
They pay you for that ? I hope so !
Look nice, but I would not do it on my car !!!
-
It's just a sticker they made for me. Made by some pros ! A friend of mine has a shop that make stickers, panels for offices, and a few other printing things.
The car is a Toyota Auris D4D. It's like a new Corolla : no more Corolla in Europe, or in my little French island.
Thanks for the positive comments !
-
Design by RAM-Designs, built by my good friend Marcus locally.
And now : THE port !
Finally in the car :
What do you guys think about it ?
Feel free to leave your comments !
Ooh and the specs : 2.5 ft3 @ 34 Hz. Amplifier is a Sundown saz 1500 D @ 1 Ohm.

Hey has anyone brought any subs from fi car audio in the last month I heard a couple bad reviews about this company and what even makes it worst they have no contact number so you can't call if you have a question about anything or a problem.last thing I heard about the company there is a guy of nick who works for fi takes your money and doesn't ship.I don't want to be a victim.so any input be great thanks
no problem with Fi, with Nick, or no one.
I don't know where you saw that but it is totally wrong.
Try to contact them on their forum if you have any question. But I think you should not spread that kind of rumors.

Don't worry!
It's easy to set your gain by ears.
I know no one doing it with DMM or DD1 or oscilloscope, locally. My installer is in this business for many years and he never burnt a sub or an amp. Me too !
Good luck

Both are good.
I support SSA, but with the ebay store, woofersetc is safer.
I am in a foreign country and both take good care of me when I order, especially SSA.
I've ordered direct from Sundown, too. It was the fastest : they use Fedex, and that works good for me !
Good luck !

are those amps 1 Ohm stable ? If so, just run one per sub.
If they are "only" stable to 2 Ohms, run 2 per sub, strapped.
Just my humble opinion !
-
For sure, they are not the best subs on earth but they ae cheap. Keep your sub if you like it. And get a second one.
But I don't think you need to tune so low. AQ recommend 36 Hz IIRC.
That is a lot of power for those subs. They can handle that, but is it really necessary ? I don't really know.
Focus more on the box than on power. It will be more efficient.
-
Take a look at the ssa store. I think they have some great Bravox comps.
Or you could look for a set of JBL gti 508 or 608 for "cheap". I've never listened to them but I usually trust JBL products (not the entry level ones though !). I found one set lately for $229. But I did not get it : I had no use for it
-
He makes all the tops bottoms backs and fronts 3/4 of an inch longer and then makes a second side panel that fits inside that. He carpets them seperately. A much easier way than doing it in one piece.
That is how my box builder does it for years. Seems pretty easy to do.
When it's done right, you can't see any "border". It looks like one single piece of carpet !
-
woofersetc is on ebay too !
Most car audio internet shops have a store on ebay.
No price limit ? Find some FOCAL K series. they will love your amp, even if they're ratde for 80-100 w rms per side.
I run my 165 KP set with a 2 x 160 amp (Sundown sax 50.4 bridged at 4 Ohms) for more than a year. This set is 6 or 7 years old !
-
12 12" ? OMG That is a lot of woofers for a GTI.
Mabe you can find the Warhorse for cheap. I think they are not made anymore. Price went down, real down ! Must be the cheapest 10,000 w amp !
I would have choose another amp and other subs, but it's your car and your system !
Good luck.
-
Niiice !
I love it in white, not so common around here.
Need help- "cheap but decent" system

Don't use 6x9s. You can fit 6.5" speakers with some adapters if needed.
Only front speakers, you don't need nothing in the back, except the sub. One 12" sub can be enough if you're on a tight budget. I'd look into sundown or DC or SSA instead of the Obsidians.
Good luck.
