  1. alright guess i have a clarion headunit and its been running fine for about 2 years now ive been wanting a volt me to check everything just to have to make it a little better in car shows

now ive been doing dumb posts and ive researched all night and picking my brain at this but heres what i did

i took a sunpro volt meter like this one http://www.buyscheaper.com/buy-cheap-sunpro-cp8215-styleline-voltmeter-black-dial-special-price/

and what i did was hook it up to the power and ground on my headunit using 18 gauge wire now while i was installing it and BEFORE i mounted it under my dash i went to test it and everything was great and nothing was going wrong then i put my headunit back in and bolted it back in place and checked it again and it worked great again

heres whats puzzling me after i screwed the mount in for some reason nothing works my headunit nor the volt meter will work and i have been picking my brain for the past 3 hours trying to figure this out someone please help cause show in 3 days and i need it working again even if the volt meter doesnt work i need my sound thanks

  3. b16's and b18's are 4 cylinders... b16a2's came out of 1999 and 2000 civic si's and b18's came out of integra's usually. most likely the motor in the car is a d17a2 which is pretty close as the same motor in the older 96-00 civics. other than the fact of .1 liters of displacement they have close to the same hp and torque. which is 127 hp and around 110 ft/lbs of torque. (motor hp, not wheel)

alright thanks man im thinking tomorrow ill be test driving it and im going to take it to a friends place and look thru EVERYTHING

  4. when you take it for a test ride, instead of shipping from 2nd to 3rd, go from 2nd to 5th and floor it. if the car wants to bog down and die, then shift it back into 3rd. if the rpm's jump up, then the clutch is starting to go

make sure you do this test! that's the only addition I have to this thread. everybody else was on the money :drinks:

ive definitely heard that test and it looks in good condition ive already been under it and its ben dropped an inch i can tell that ill be test driving it soon so ill keep everyone posted

  5. pop the hood check for over spray in case it has been wrecked. make sure no grinds when going into gear and tranny shifts smooth. check all fluids to make sure there all full. make sure the antifreeze doesnt have any additives in it like there trying to hide a head gasket leak. you will notice if its really dark and slimy. just all around check it over and get on it a little bit make sure the engine sounds good and pulls good. you will hear a noise similar to a lifter knock but its the fuel injectors they are noisy at least on the older motors

thank man ill def looking at all that stuff tomorrow well i mean today but yeah ill update on this tomorrow when i actually test drive it i really like cause ive always wanted a standard and civic are easy to work on

  6. hey guys and girl i have been driving a 1992 oldsmobile cutlass ive been thru alot of stuff with her but shes getting old and its time to upgrade up the road from where i live i have found a 2003 honda civic standard for 6200 <---- price ive been looking, anyways it has 92,000 miles on it and it got me thinking if there was anything wrong with it im calling the owner tomorrow to meet out there so i can test drive it if anyone has owned a car like this please let me know what could be wrong with it or if anything on YOUR car has gone bad and have had to replace it if i get this car it will be a member build and will be on this forum thanks for the help
