its a stock alternator on a hummer in not sure what it is

see thats what im stuck on, will getting an alternator make the current set up louder? im stuck on what it would do

whats up guys, its time to upgrade the hummer. in it right now is 1 18 fi btl fully loaded and a 3500 audioque. only electrical done is 1 yellow top and big 3. what do you guys recommend? should i upgrade some electrical or maybe do a new set up?

but how do i get power to an amp?

what series is it? how much did it run you? I would really like to get something loud but I have no idea how to set up something custom to a computer haha

I have a cheapo 2.1 set up made by creative right now, wanting something new that can get loud. what do you guys recommend and what are you guys running?

the first time it just blew the fuses and he didnt even have it on, the second time i was there and he had it all hooked up right the wire looked kind of small maybe like a 6 gauge but the amp didnt look that it could fit any bigger he left to go do some stuff and called me like an hour later saying it stopped working he didnt have it up loud or anything it shut off all the way and you could hear pieces moving around inside and it smelled really bad

yea i will check it all this week, like i said he took it to this shop and the guy was finishing it and he went out there to leave and all his lights in his truck started to flicker and like his head unit would go on and off

i dont know what ohm load its at, he took it to some shop to hook it up for him. its a jl w7 with an alpine PDX 1.1000, now that you guys say it arnt these subs like 3ohm? they guy probably just through wire around and did who knows what with it.im not sure how everything is hooked up and the wire size cus he did all that as well.

the first time with first amp it blew em right away, the second time it played for like 2 hours then blew. there as been an amp in there before just not as big as this one would you guys think maybe upsize gauge wire for the ground

my friend hooked up his stuff this past weekend and gave me a call that his amp blew all the fuses and made his lights start diming after, he later hooked up a second one and said fried. he took it out and you could hear parts moving around on the inside and it smelled horrible. what could be causing this?

finished the install did the big three and two batterys no dimming at all, everything sounds great but not as loud as i thought it would be. the gain and bass boost are like a quarter of the way up, the bass knob read "clipping" not sure what that means.

well we are planning on doing the big three and adding a battery

what would be the best tune for a daily set up? how do i wire in a second battery?

its a DVC 1ohm so we can do .5 or 2ohm were looking at an alpine that does 2k at 2ohm

i didnt buy the sub, and my friend got it off a buddy so he couldnt choose what it was.

alright guys did the port today, sounds better but not as much of a difference as i thought i would see, oh well

yea true that i made the box for it to be right in between min and max size to be ported so i just need to get the port in and tuned right haha. ill wait and see what the say haha thanks for the help tho man i really appreciate it bro
