  1. OK... Sooooo... I got my meter in, unboxed it and went to work testing this thing... I made a quick vid but realized that Steve's address and phone # where on the box so I will make a new vid without that info hopefully today.

Regardless... I put it to work in a few cars.

First up, I read the owners manual (I suggest this as it does clear up a few questions I have heard on this forum)

Next I followed the instructions, found the output of her radio, then RE-TUNED her amplifier. I MUST say... the SMD DD1 performed very nicely. Her truck sounds amazing right now. I wanted to see what results if any would be reflected on the termlab so I popped it in the s10 for some comparisons (did some spl testing before retuning with the SMD DD1) The results surprised me. Her truck picked up .5dB!!! .5!!! Let me explain what that means... though you or I cannot HEAR the difference in .5dB... at the last show she would have gotten first place with that extra .5dB (she actually only lost by .2dB).

Next up... Mike's Avalanche... spl testing done before setting up with the SMD DD1.

Then max output of the radio along with a RETUNE of the amplifiers (mids/highs and sub amp) and gave it a quick listen then tested for spl... .6dB difference!!!!!! Not to mention his mids/highs are extremely loud at this point and sound absolutely amazing!

Then I retuned my soundboard making it sing even sweeter now...

I also retuned a couple of other simple setups and saw a few gains in spl (.3dB, .2dB, .3dB) but the biggest thing is how fast and easy it is to tune with the SMD DD1.

Great product and I hope to get a few vids up with some testing... we will be using the SMD DD1 to RETUNE the Boswell's DDBEAST, can't wait to see what happens... :)

    Thanks again Steve.

  2. hey tony got a few quick off topic questions for you... you only designed the 3sixty.1 and .2 right nothing with the .3? and any advice on ground loop with a .2? my new rcas seemed to have helped but theres still a some alt whine

one thing that will usually fix most whines...

connect a ground wire (I use 16awg) from the radio to ground, radio the the eq (if there is one), then eq to amp ground (with a normal ground for the amp of course)... in other words go in a complete line. If I'm doing any sq vehicle, I run an extra wire with the remote for this purpose so there is absolutely no chance of noise.

most whines are ground related... now there of course is the problem with running power wires with rca's or speaker wires, but I'm sure you know better than that. :)

  3. rick im curious how much is actually in the geo dollar wise

don't even want to figure that one out man.

lol just curious it looks a little "cheaper" than most no offense just not the 100 grand fart machine lol

no where near the price tag on the hummer. lol

    Two Powerbass XTA5000d

    One Batcap 8400

    One DD99Z 15" (backup woofer is a DD9515)

    Mobile Spec 0/0 gauge wire

    JVC kda605

Excessive Amperage 320amp Alt (on the way as I type)

    Dynamat Extreme Bulk pack

    17" chrome wheels

    custom paint (candy green pearl)

little tree air freshener (adds dB)

    lots of labor.

  4. hoping that everyone I know and have met through competitions over the years, in this forum, or in this industry that live in Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma Tennessee, Virginia, Carolinas, Ohio and other states hit recently by storms and destruction are all ok... and for those that I may not know... I still wish you all the best and hope for a quick recovery for you all...

  5. thanks... and yes.. the SPL box (which the SMD is not in) is for SPL only... at 61hz..

This box is one that is EXACTLY 1/6th of what Trippi's Hummer is. :) I built it for my Dodge ram quad cab. sub up port to the side... its wayyyy to big for the metro... but figured what the hell... I was waiting for paint to dry on some door panels I did for Mr. Gerald Jacoway... and I hate watching paint dry. lol

    hope you enjoy it.
