ok 18.4" is the majic number but i havent taken in account the fact that ill have to brace it (and i dont even know how the heck to do that) BUT did i need to subtract the port walls from the volume itself?

ok on the calc u just sent me im using the inside dimensions...

depth has to be (edit) its actually 16.9" i believe cuz isnt the equation: (HxWxD)/1728=V (in cF) but then i put into that calculator and it says 18.5" fer the depth....

and thats 5.2 cF dude i nedd 4.0 cF...

nothing on how to tune it to 35 Hz tho?

Hey! I'm in the process of making this vented box for my two 12" subs. I have all the materials and tools needed, but I can not figure out the dimensions needed. I have the specs on the subs: the net volume on a vented box is 2.0 ft3 and I have two so total net volume of 4.0 ft3 is needed in the box. It needs to be tuned to 35 Hz also. It also can't be taller than 15" and wider then 34" to fit perfectly in the trunk (depth isn't a problem). Any help on this one? Thanks. I got this sketch from another post, but it's only 3.0 ft3 and tuned to 30 Hz, so if you could alter this one that would be fine too.

lol thanks man will do uhhh and another thing that wall in the box itself that separates the 2 12s (hopefully that made sense lol) it doesnt do anything no?

another question would u recommend (if i were to start from scratch) vented ports or tube ports? or is there a difference (is it just about space?)

plus the subwoofer moves more air idk wat that does but id think thatd be a lil bit better cuz the subwoofer flexes more... just a thought that runs thru my inexperienced head lol like i said i stick to speakers lol

lol u got that rite but my friend has cadence 12's and he has a sealed box and u can tell the subs are bein robbed cuz i hear my other friends 2 12" sonys with a ported box sounds a whole hell of a lot better inside and outside ...

lol i kno its kinda stupid lol but porting it also allows the subwoofer to move more freely and i think thatd make it beat harder no?

i think ill just port this one see how it sounds if it BLOWS ill just make one lol but no harm in tryin... my friend has 2 cadence 12's with 1000 watts RMS lol but a sealed box ... but it will blow an eardrum if u sit there long enough lol good luck with 6 lol

I'm pretty new when talkin bout subwoofers im more of a speaker and overall loudness person... so my friend just gave me this set-up to convince me that bass is good lol... i got the MTX Terminator set-up with 2 12" MTX Terminators and the Terminator 400watt amp and the sealed box... I'm convinced if we ported this box it would sound a much better outside the car... I've tried several different porting calculators and i honestly dont understand some of the stuff they ask for and i hate to cut into the box and mess it up... I WOULD EXTREMELY APPRECIATE IT if anyone who knows what theyre talkin about (seems ive come to the rite place fer that too lol) could help me with this project i can give u all the dimensions and what not and again I WOULD APPRECIATE IT sooo much lol thanks
