Actually best buy wanted $100 and they wont ground the brake wire for me. I would do it myself except I dont have the money to get wires so I can extend the harness. And I never knew that it could cause any problems, thats why I had to ask.

Heres an idea, I hope this will work...How about instead of wiring all the way to the trunk, I cut the wires from the stock radio and use the existing black and blue harnesses, I just wire the HU wires directly to those harnesses?

When installing any stereo in the past I always made sure to use electrical to wrap around any exposed wires so Im already good on that end. It looks like I might have to do it myself to save money since I was just fired today. Thanks a lot for all the info man, hopefully I can get some cash soon and tackle to job

No there wasnt one. For the harness what wires should I use to extend them?

oooh this is gonna suck...yea Im going to need to have the shop do it then. And he quoted me at $75 but Im not sure he realizes he will need to run it to the trunk. Hopefully he doesnt charge too much more when he finds out I say what yea make and model in every post, its the only thing I have in my signature

The wiring harness they show is the same one best buy sold me (minus the black wire on the side), so thats how Im confused. I really need to figure out how to get this done cause I do not want to pay $75 for the shop to do it.

Doesnt fit, thats why i thought they sold me the wrong harness but they said it was correct. They of course could still be wrong, but if it is the blue harness than what about the black one next to it and where is the antenna cable?

According to best buy the wiring harness they sold me actually is correct and the ones in the car I found are not the ones I need to hook up my stereo, the ones I found are apperenty fed down to another wiring harness and that is the one I need to hook into which is apperently also where the antenna cable is...but where the hell is it and how do I get to it? Here is pics of the harnesses and what the harnesses go into.. They get fed into a jumble of wires and electrical tape/wire loom, I have no idea where to find the right harness Please help!!!

I hate admitting defeat, but I can not find the correct wiring harness that according to best buy is buried somewhere underneath the dash. Tuesday I take it in to an audio shop to have them do it..

Ok so ground the pink wire, gotcha. Thats what I was trying to figure out. Now the real trouble, I found out I need to take apart a bigger section of my dash in order to get to the wiring harness

So there are two wires, one in the book was labeled as going to the gearbox, and another is labeled Brake. Which do I ground? And Im just trying to clarify, when I ground it I do like any ground wire right?

I am unbelievably pissed off right now, after several several hours of stripping, crimping, and then using electrical tape to help ensure a good hold I find out the mother fuckers at best buy sold me the wrong goddamn wiring harness!

I just bought a Jensen in dash dvd player (haven't hooked it up yet) I was told it is the kind that the screen will close when I shift into anything other than Park, but the deck also allows for use with GPS and a back up camera, how the hell am I going to keep the screen open while in Drive or Reverse?

Thank you for proving me a dumb ass lol, I didnt even think to take off the grill >.< But no I cant just switch out the bulbs from the back, I looked and there is way too many things in the way.

Im going to install a HID kit on my friends 2005 Equinox, how exactly do I remove the headlight housing so I can get to the bulbs? Im asking because the grille has a long plastic piece that runs on top of the housing.

Yea Im pretty sure I will have to do what I originally planned, trade in my 40 gig and get the backwards compatible 80 gig, only thing that sucks is I will lose all my data :-( I hear yea on the games not comparing, but I also have a 360 and any game that is also on the 360 I will just play there, my ps3 is for ps3 only games, the bluray, and hopefully soon also my ps2 games cause I love my old games

Idk, I was told it was a software issue that the ps2 discs used a much more difficult program and it eventually burns out the bluray feature. I just figured maybe Sony figured out how to run ps2 games without burning out the eye or w.e

Thats because you most likely have the 80 gig system which is 100% backwards compatible, Sony stopped making those

Someone came into work the other day mentioning something you can now download onto your ps3 from the ps3 network that will allow you to play ps2 games as well as 1 and 3. Any truth to this? Where exactly is it cause if it is true, I cant find it.
