  1. My acceleration has dropped some, and cornering has suffered. But my gas millage is the same, and all my shift points are the same.
  2. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/01nocomment8so.gif Thanks!!! It's the loudest setup I have ever heard.
  3. Here's another vid of me just playing around. Just trying to get the subs to move. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  4. That was the goal. Don't give up man. One less crx on the road is a sad thing.
  5. It's a Irragi alt. A large case gm alt. But the problem is I melt belts like crazy!!!!! It doesn't help that it's a 4 grove pulley on the alt, and on my engine is a 3 grove pulley. But it's a great alt. In line with my batts i only drop to 13volts. Thanks!!! I'm just trying to break the mold. There's enough crx style boxes out there. LOL!!!!! Then you would be happy to know that I'm having a second one repaired, well hopefully. If I do though i'm going to run both of them at 2ohms And get the 4kw out of it like that. Just to ensure a nice long life for my equipment. And possibly LVL5's in the NEAR future. More vids to come when I can find someone to man the gas peddle so I can crank it without worrying about it dipping too low. And these XL'S are just plain MONSTERS!!!!! I love them, but my crx might have mixed feelings.
  6. I've had a lot of issues with getting a memphis that worked. But I finally got it in after nearly a year of building. And all I can say is just WOW!!! Rusty you make one devastating sub. Like I said I only have the gains set a little less then half and it's just hard to breath in that thing. I can't find alot of the build pics I took, I accidentally deleted them. And when I went to get them out of the trash bin, I deleted the trash bin If I can find my trash bin on my computer, then I can pull the pics out of it.
  7. Here Is a few vids of my walled CRX with 2x 18" DCLVL4XL'S Powered by a memphis mcd4kw. My electrical for the car is a 300amp alt, a nsb90, and and a nsb125. My gains are only let a little less then half in both vids. I'm still looking for someone to help me set my gains, someone with a o-scope and the proper test tones. First vid is a shirt trick at 37hz. I rolled the volume on it, I hit full tilt at about the 7sec mark. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> Here is just a vid of some flex on music. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> I have to stay in my car to keep my engine at 2k rpms that's why I never get out of the car in my vids. Remember this is just my daily driver, not a comp vehicle. Plus my box is built past the b pillar, so there is no way I can enter a comp. Playing 35hz tone. Tuned the amp a little. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> Come on........ 8. Looking mainly for the 170ft slim types. If you can point me in the right direction where to buy one that will be much appreciated too. But other then that show me whatcha got!! Or the power master D2700
  9. As the title says. Pm me if you have any.
  10. $1200 is the going price for a 3/4" 4x8 sheet of lexan. It's scratches very easy, so use caution when handling it. It's cheaper to send a dealer your cut sheet and have them send you the peaces precut and ready to assemble when it arrives to you. acry-weld as stated before is the adhesive to use. It causes a chemical bond to the two peaces making them into one IIRC.
  11. That's only If the wire grounds out, if that's the case your car will shut off. Happend to me in my crx when the battery post cam in contact with my air intake. Pretty much the same thing as something grounding the wire from my alt to my batt. In my silverado, and my crx, there is virtually no way to some how cut through the insulation on my wire to cause it to ground. That would be my only fear to use a fuse. But I am also using welding wire, which also has a cardboard like material separating the outer insulation from the copper. Which I would suggest using because it's is rated for extreme heat. If your power cable were to rest on a hot surface on your engine it stands a better chance then CA cable. I wouldn't fuse the alt to the batt. As you stated before, it's just to make you feel better. It's also always a good idea to have a digital voltage meter reading your voltage at all times.
  12. Thanks man. Like i said, I'm going to be putting up a build thread, so keep an eye out for it. I'm going to take 2 vacation days to go to a few comps and bass race it. Just to show everyone what DC audio dose.
  13. Ya, i saw your sig. Hopefully I get a good response out of my setup.
  14. It's almost like ultrasound pics of your baby. Something you will never get from a mainstream company. I wanted build pics to see their time, hard work, and dedication that went into building a sub. It's just something you don't see very often. If it's not for you then it's not for you. It would be cool to see a video of how my amp was built. But the Chinese owners are to busy with the whips in their hands to stop and take a vid of the amps being made. poor child labor
  15. God I get that alot! It's not meant to get loud to the mic. I could care less about the score. And 150db at 55+hz isn't really impressive. Even If it was at 35hz, 2 18" subs feel way different doing 150 at 35hz, then 2 10". But my 150 goal at 35hz is a long shot, once again i could careless about scores. Congrats to the guys doing big numbers in the crx with tiny subs. That's not what I bought a crx for. Not trying to get on your case or any thing bangin caddy.
  16. I was hoping to be special and have maybe the first pair of 18"xl's built. But ehh... I'm going to make a very well documented build thread. And will have vids up as soon as I finish the install. Should be getting my amp by the 28th. And yes, pics of the subs being built would be nice. =] Rusty is a cool ass guy. We talked on the phone a few times. Hopefully we can meet up some where and I can show him what his babies do to a walled crx.
  17. It goes great with the black cone. Kinda matches the theme of the rex. Black on red You will not be disappointed.
  18. What's up rusty. How many 18"xl's are there out there?
  19. That's my goal. Hopefully and a nice tone I can be proud of. Like 35, 40hz Of course there's going to be a build thread. Keep an eye out for it. Ported of course. Aiming for 35hz
  20. Yes sir. Going to wall my crx. I have been wanting to do it for a while. This is just going to be my daily driver, bass race maybe once or twice. Got the red to match my car. Probably going to wrap the box in black with a large red dc logo on the back. A memphis 4kw. I have a iraggi 300amp alt and a yellow top up front. I'm going to pick up 2 batacap 200 and later on down the road get a d3100 or something similar. LOL!! it's my son's dvd he has almost every sponge bob dvd out. ^^^ I'm lovin them too. They are massive!!! I saw the pics of the 15" LVL4XL and was a little worried the motor would be dwarfed by the rest of the sub. But it's perfectly per proportioned. I know that doesn't mean much, but they sure are beefy.
  21. So finally I paid of Rusty and got my subs shipped out to me on tuesday. And the very unhappy FedEx driver showed up to my house on Thursday. Big hats of to Rusty. One cool ass guy, he put up with all my shit:D thanks bro. The box The pictures do this thing no justice, these things are HUGE!!!!! The 18" next to my 15"L7 Season 5 was the shit!!!
