  1. awesome product . i have wanted for one of these for a while. is the whole device contained in what we see in the video?
  2. Here's who's going to buy this product: A) Any car audio shop that has the funds available to build a proper test bench and will Dyno amps at a cost. Like a Hot Rod Shop: We'll dyno any amp for $XX in car set up, $XX bench set up and $XX per dyno pull. ( at least that’s how Id do it if I was still in a shop) B.) People like Myself, BigDWiz, HHR Ed, ETC... Who, for whatever reason, have the means and the desire for it Otherwise we already have test equipment that allows us to get the magic Wattage #. It's just not in a nice little package. Amp Clamps, VOM, Dummy Load boxes etc... we got it already Bottom line, is your product out there. Yup I just think you picked the wrong thread to post in about it. Even if you had started another thread in another sub forum some people might have jumped in just as they did here. Who knows? sorry im not a forum guy . i dont know all the rules and etiquette. so forgive me if i get peoples panties in a wad. but there is already stuff on ebay and everywhere else that is very inexpensive. you can buy a dc watt meter at hobby king.com for 30 bucks. good for up to 6000 + watts. and just for example i think that the rc guys are not as separated and opinionated as us car audio guys. maybe thats why they can offer an accurate power meter for 30 bucks and we still have to use separate multi meters.
  3. as you can see I really dont really care what my post count is lol. i just want someone to make a decent all in one amp measuring tool. maybe some one will see this and make one. maybe not. i would think all of you guys that like testing your amps would be on my side on this one. my only agenda is getting one of these made. not getting my post count up.
  4. the problem is that these guys who designed this probably make a decent living doing what is in there niche . and when they design something they are not held back by their lack of knowledge of electronics but rather what environment that they work in every day. you can tell by looking at it that it is a rack mount design just like the rack mount stuff that they are used to working on. which is great for bench testing A/C current rack mount amps.......... but it is powered by 12 volts and being marketed towards car audio guys.
  5. bottom line is that a dash mount display with external sensors is a way better idea for car audio guys than the big bulky amp dyno. no way around it.
  6. with the engineering experience of the creators of the amp dyno it could very simply be made to exceed everyone's needs and be made for less money by getting rid of the expensive dummy load resistors . hell even put some blue led wind shield wipers on it if they want. they are amp repair and design guys. they sit inside all day and fix , design , probe and solder. notice all the big power stuff they tested were a/c house amps. not even the creators of this thing have a big enough dc power supply inside their house to test a big boy 12 volt amp. they couldnt even feed a boss 4000 in their vehicle . now thats what i call wrong product for the wrong market
  7. a normal person uses multiple gauges and meters and readouts in their car every day without even knowing how the hell they work or even what the hell they mean but the car companies still put them in . do we really need tpms sensors in tires to drive to where we need to go? no but it gives a comfort level to certain people. so just because we can do without something is not a good basis for not designing something new or making it common place. i mentioned kenny coleman having one of these in his vehicle. he is not a big youtube guy. if meade or jonathan price had one in their vehicle everyone would start looking into it. which is a good thing
  8. just for example . im sure the first cars on the road didnt have a fuel gauge and the guy that came up with that idea was probably made fun of. and hell some cars still dont come with a tach. but that doesnt mean that you have to be a race car driver just to enjoy knowing what rpm your engine is running at and use your rpms to change your driving habbits to save fuel or know if your overdrive is working correctly . if some one built a prototype sent it to china or korea to have them made. and could match the price point to 134.99 or 109.99 on sale. if some one bought 2 little led wind shield wiper looking thingies over a full diagnostic readout , i would really question their intelligence .
  9. ROLEXrifleman IH8PunkRok i respect your opinions but if someone built one of these for car audio and it had the marketing and publicity that the other smd products get. i know it would outsell the vu din blue meter 3 to 1. and come close to the dd-1 in sales.
  10. another point is power supply. i dont know of many people wanting to build a test bench in their house capable of 200 or 300 amps dc. the alternative is to lug this amp dyno out to your car find a spot big enough for it to sit and close enough to where the amp is mounted . disconnect your speaker wires hook them up to a pretty much non reactive dummy load of resistors and dyno an amp.
  11. the amp dyno uses a test tone cd and no music . they also sell a useless (but cool looking) meter that moves up and down to the music for 130 dollars. sure it tells you when you are clipping if adjusted but i think that is a far more useless product than the idea i am putting out there sorry its on sale for $109 right now

  13. if it does not have value to you that is fine. but it does to me. i dont like juggling 2 or 3 volt meters and i live in the city so i cant really go anywhere without bothering someone in their home other than driving down the interstate sometimes. not easy looking at 2 volt meters doing 70 lol. i admit it might be for a small market and not for everyone but neither is the amp dyno from deamore . from the looks of that thing its gonna be in the 600 to 1000 dollar range if they ever produce it. i dont think a dash mount version using subs as the load would cost even a third of that
  14. i tell you what...... whoever finds me somebody to build one with a similar look to the stinger blue led volt meter and it is decently accurate as in within 5 or 10 of amps of my fluke ......i will pay you 100 bucks
  15. i know quite a few people that would tell wayne he has no idea what he is doing lol well maybe when it comes to running db drag events and other things some people could argue with him there............but as far as innovating car audio in his day . you cant argue that. he is also an electrical engineer
  16. its not like im searching for bigfoot or the holy grail here. technology is already out there and has been for a long time . we use all of these separate tools everyday for testing and so forth why not combine all of them into one?
  17. edison and everyoone laughed at tesla for thinking that a/c was the best way to run americas power grid. edison did that because he didnt understand it and had invested so much into dc power. not in anyway comparing myself to tesla. just saying when a good idea comes up (which it was not my original idea) and someone hasnt thought of it themselves. they automatically write it off as crazy or stupid. i would like to see one of you guys tell wayne harris that he doesnt know what he is talking about because he wanted to monitor all of his voltage and current from the dash.
  18. if you guys think its a dumb idea thats fine. you can keep using volt meters to clamp your amps. there is nothing wrong with the results but it is just really inconvenient.
