look through this site, there are two awesome companies who partner with SMD to provide you with a much nicer, less mainstream, cheaper route. DC and Iraggi are awesome. ive played with both but personally use a twin alt brakcet from dc with dual 300amp alts from iraggi. i wasnt able to use the belt that came with the alts, it was about 9" too long but a quick trip to NAPA fixed that.
i dont kno if maybe you overlooked it but it was suggested you run 3 coils per amp.

i seriously laugh at people when they tell me they like the rattling in the trunk. flex is one thing, but rattling is just sad all around. it lowers sound quality, volume, and strength of notes. why would anyone WANT to have less sound? its like saying, i love buying huge 44oz cups of cola with small holes in the bottom.

do you mean like just batterys or wiring, alternator, and all that? i was going to let the shop d that. they sad i would need twin alts and had a stinger kit, but its only 2 220 amp alternators.
and what does it mean when it says an alt is 220amps?
honestly, i wasnt able to open the link either that boon provided.
and yeah, i meant ALL that. i honestly wouldnt go with the stinger kit. much better options you could go with which would be cheaper. i think the stinger twin alternator kits are like $1500 for two alts, belts, and the bracket. and for only a total of 440amps?

out of curiousity, what do you have setup for your electrical set up? i also use t4s but have a pretty solid foundation for my amps. have you thought about it or were you letting the shop run that too?

Get your car the fuck out of a shop that can't work out how to wire 3 18's to 2 T4ks, and would even suggest running 2 on 1 amp and 1 on the other?
EDIT: Mayhems are dual voice coil. Are they dual 1's or dual 2's?
The Power series amps can be strapped (your damn shop should know this, jesus, I hope you're not paying them much)

Once you know what coils your subs have I can suggest a useful way to wire them up.

i laugh at some of the people who dont believe the iphone will be available through verizon. the iphone was originally marketed to verizon before at&t but the company did not take forwhatever reasons.
will it be available through verizon? i believe it will. in 2010? not a chance. if it is even close to be factual truth the phone would be offered on the new 4g network verizon will be working on next year, and not the cdma signal currently used.
but i laugh even more at the guy who refuses to use 3g because the internet is slow. if its not someting you dont use, then i understand your opinion. but for someone who can do so much wirelessly through my phone $120 a month is nothing for the flexability and efficiency my 3g phone gives me. the 14th of this month my droid incredible should be shipped and i can not wait.

i just use the regular IE but i never have to log in. i only have to relog in when i log in to another computer

His subs might be 2 ohms though. If you want full power and have a final load of 2 ohms, you need the cable. If the final load of the sub is 1 ohm, you would do master/slave.

dont turn the amp up period, lol. and i highly doubt if you wire the subs correctly youll be pulling 1400 watts from the amp. i believe the subs you have are d4, and 600 is the max.
also on a side note...isnt google or bing a better option than a thread when asking questions like these? search engines = your friend

the brand isnt bad, you could definitely do worse, but that being said they are definitely overrated and you CAN do better. better quality, better price, better reliability, and better performance.
were you looking into the amps or subs?

have no idea what experiences the 2nd poster has had, planet audio is some good stuff. ive loved them for a long time, dont pay retail for a lot of stuff, but i can find pretty good deals on craigslist. they are a very decent brand with good stuff. never had a bad experience with anything planet audio.

Then let them blow their shit, doesn't hurt you at all. Just mark where you left all of the settings on the amplifier, so if they try to say it is your fault, you can use that as proof. And if they try to take the markings off with anything (like Acetone, etc.), it'll just take away the numbers/letters that are suppose to be there to begin with.
If people decide to change all the settings after I took my time to set it all up (whether I did it for free, or they payed me because I also just installed everything), that's their problem, not mine. They'll learn sooner or later that you were right, then maybe you can sit them down and actually explain the difference between a volume knob on the head unit, and a gain/bass boost knob on the amplifier, till then though...let them do what they want.
yeah, i get you, but i think youre kind of missing the point. im not worried about whos fault it is, its just so irritating when any level of audio equipment is ruined by idiocy. or just te pure ignorance of it all.

i wish it always did. but even with the serious angry tone, people still think that a little bit is ok. and the knob is so easily confused for as a volume switch. oh man...bass is louder. ill keep turning it.

this is just when i walk away shaking me head, honestly
you have no idea the facepalm i wanted to do. when the sub was taken out there was more foam than there was room in the box. it literally blew out the box. he called last week and i told him to never call me again. i dont get some people...not everyone has to be super smart when it comes to car audio, but people can not be soooooooooo dumb.

Alright guys this post is for you to get things off your mind that pisses you off. What stuff irritates you, for example i've been helping this guy with his system for 2 weeks now, I finished it the first day and he kept on changing the layout. The thing that irritates me the most is one of his sub-woofers made a distortion sound like the cone was gonna explode and he asked me what it was, i simply changed his gain and set it properly and problem solved. So the next day i get a call and he says that one of the subs blew, and i was like let me look at it. He had amp gain all the way up, headunit eq all the way up, a 250 amp anl fuse on 6 ga wire, and he had a 6 ga power and a 8 ga ground. So i was like what the hell did you do and he said it was louder this way.
Sorry for the long post but stuff like this makes me wanna jump into the middle of the highway cause its stupid.

guy is balling on a budget, something i hate, but i felt sorry for him. he didnt have enough money to fiberglass his interior, so i offer to sand the shit out of his panels, and he can just layer it with layer after layer with rattlecan primer so i can finish sanding it down and paint it for him. supercheap. so he complains that his doors are not smooth like the panels in my cars. um....i explained EVERYTHING in minute detail he can expect when working on a budget.
his friend had me install two pioneer championship 12s with a sony 760watt amp, which just pissed me off, so i got him a really good deal on an old school 1600 earthquake amp. he comes in about 2 weeks later saying his subs arent bumping as hard and is upset at my install job. first thing i notice...hes hooked up the sony 760 AND the earthwuake amp. i check his setup knowing i dont make mistakes...im a ninja....and i see he has changed all the wires. he replaced 16g wires because accordng to him, the colors went better for his project. like really...what the fuck. after fixing all this, the subs are really not pushing air...and it sounds so clogged...so i pull out the subs...this dipshit. the box is STUFFED with fucking old ass mattress stuffing. because he saw something like that on unique whips that tricks the subs into thinking theres more airspace to the subs hit harder. like....really? what the fuck are you coming to me for if youre just going to watch unique whips and put mattress parts in your sub box?!?!?!?

onto the video, this kid has some good pipes. i liked his voice
