  1. hahah with those numbers that you just gave me your looking at 16.82 ft3 that enough for at least 2 18 AA/SMD try toning it down a little lol remember your only going to need about half of that ..and as for price of supplies i have no idea because i kinda live in what you call a ski resort in the middle of nowhere so everyhitng is more expensive for me but for a sheet of 3/4 mdf your looking at approx 35 dollars. and resin and fiberglass that all depends on how much you will use and what you do use like mat weight and everything..
  2. Doing a bigger port is going to increas my overall SPL right?.. im not only going for spl but something that just pounds with everyday listening and sound great with all kinds of music
  3. alright here is what i would do. take the specs that you have and use them to calculate the box how much space do you have to use. Once you know that go to the rockfordfosgate site and just pick out and sub and then use the tabs on the site to get you to the box wizardand then you can start throwing number together to get the dimensions of the box just remember that when you are calculating the box that you account for the displacement of the woofer and the port as well and any bracing tha tyou may need. if your going to go with a simple rectangle or square box you can just use this (measurements in inches) L x W x H=.....and then divide that 1728 and it will give the the aound of space in ft3 and for calculating the port just use google and search for some port calculators and you will be set to go. As for materials 3/4 MDF for the box itself, wood glue, and lots of screws. To make box really solid use fiberglass mat 29 oz and resin to make it solid. Also dont forget that when you are doing this the smoother you can make the port and the box the better it will sound. 45 all internal angles that will help and then router all corners on port or 45 inside corners. the smoother the better. and dont be afraid to mess up we all did when we started making boxes and every now and then i still do. I hope this helped if you have any more questions just message and ask ill help you all that i can.
  4. Could you please tell twisted ot message me then so i may talk to him. thanks
  5. Alright Next question since the enclosure will be ported will there be a difference if i have the port firing between the front seats versus having it fire upward with the subs??
  6. Well if i do the Two 15 i was planning on 4 RF t2500-bdCP and if i do the three 15 then Six RFt2500-bdCP amps i have already have three...waiting on my next paycheck to get the other ones. Idea is to be one amp per coil.
  7. Even though directed at C-stud i was thinking that as well no disrespect or anytying c-stud still all opinions are welcome the more the merrier
  8. x2 that woudl also give youa quick little 101 on building a box in a way i guess lol and save you money so you can buy a second sub
  9. I could do 18 but they require 4-7 ft3 and witht eh box and the dimensions i have have now woudl it not be a better setup to go witht eh three 15 becasue that will give them the median ft3 they require
  10. yeah suprisingly there is enough room the reason i suggest 3 is becasue on the website for the AA/SMD subs it says that i need 2-4 ft3 per sub and with the dimensions i gave there is enough room to give each sub 3 ft3 and when it comes to me and the way i live my life the bigger and louder and faster the better. yes it will be ported i mentions the dimensions and everything in my initial description. thanks for all your opinions so far
  11. ALright everybody i need more bass for my mustang i have decided i want to either go with 2 15 AA/SMD subs or i can go with 3 15 AA/SMD subs. Now space is not a super big issue but it still does exist. I plan on getting rid of my back seat and putting these subs in its place the over all dimensions for the box are this (note im combining to box styles a wedge flipped upside down to accomodate for the for how the seat was positioned and then a normal rectangle. Over all heigth is 21".. Height 14.75 for the rectangle part of the box width is 46" and depth is 28" those measurement are for the rectangle box now for the wedge its height is 6.25" the very bottom depth is 13" and the top depth is 22" followed by with which is the same 46". With those dimensions i will get a vb of 10.12 ft3 the three woofers will take up .72 leaving me with 9.4 ft3 and the port takes up .26 ft3 so overall box vb is 9.14 split up between three subs would give them each 3 ft3. According to my calculations which may be off since i had to do them all by hand the port dimensions are 17.31"x4.00"x6.53" (w x h x l) I cant upload any pics because this is a really old comp sorry my other one crashed and it had all my programs and pics on it. .. Anyways let me know what you think and if its possible. all amps and batteries will be in the trunk. Any help is appreciated 1 ----- 1 / 1 / 1---------/
