  1. From what I seen, the regular 4's do good with about 1100-1200 watts RMS to them... anything more they will heat up... (But it is a fun ass ride getting there!) But for the price of the subs, they are well worth it for what they do!!! If you have more power, you will tend to try to get it out of them....
  2. I think with the baby, the space that the 8's would be best... I am thinking about 1 cube each side
  3. hmmm.... if it were me, I would go with ported 8's to play decaf lol... but if trying to get numbers, the 10's.... tough call... actually, I would be building a box up to hold 4 12's!
  4. To answer your question.... that might be a lil overkill.... Not really needed... but will not hurt anything... I would rather make it too tough than not tough enough!!!
  5. I would use 3 layers of 1" birch, steel bracing and 3" steel rods every 8" inside cabinet along with a layer of concrete in between each layer and 1" thick of fiberglass inside and use case hardened steel aero port, plastic flexes.. If you can afford it, buy a couple concrete light poles and cut them down as bracing inside the box instead of the steel rods. Also, use titanium 3/4" bolts to mount the subs that way they don't break. Also... what about deadener?? I would use 16-20 layers of Alpha Damp on EVERYTHING in the vehicle and I would look into installing a stripper pole every 2 square feet to minimize flexing... That would be my ideal setup for what your doing...
  6. I am gonna try it and post the results.... will be tomorrow more than likely tho...
  7. They are 10 cubes tuned to 34... exactly 5 cubes per sub... The reason I ask this is when I did Frankenstein, I had separate amps on each sub and when I decided to upgrade to 1 AQ3500 on the 2 15's, the subs sounded out of phase, even tho they were not, so I removed the partition and it sounded normal. (Did not play it long enough to notice any heat issue) But, heat issue or not, I think that might just be a thermal issue, I am wondering if I should remove the partition? (I am wondering if I could get more out of it) In your thoughts, could it harm anything connecting the 2 partitions? SPL Hell is the same design, less bracing and one box and has no issues....(But I am running Memphis CM Cast Mojos in it)
  8. Got a quick question... When we did the yukong 8 18's We built the cabinets with a partition in the middle for support, however... we forgot to cut out part of the partition to connect the 2 chambers.... Let me give you a quick rundown and then I will ask the question... 4 DC Level 4 18's in one cabinet tuned to 34hz but there is a partition in the middle separating the 4 subs, 2 to each chamber. (We forgot to cut the holes in the partition to connect the 2 chambers) on 1 DC5k... I set gains with DD1, with and without subs connected and have no clipping however, I cannot play for more than 30 seconds without subs heating up. I have had issues with subs in separate chambers on same amp before in the past, however, these seem to be playing fine, cept the heat issue. (Some of the freqs above 40hz isnt there either, even tho the Term-Pro model says it should be... (I am thinking because of the partition.) COULD THE PARTITION NOT BEING CUT OUT BE CAUSING THE HEAT ISSUE AND THE MISSING FREQS? WHAT IS YOUR GUYS INPUT ON THIS???
  9. I had a 94 Explorer with 4 Memphis Mojo 12's and 2 Fosgate Power 1000's so..... I am tuned!
  10. AC on and everything!!!!!! VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!! I cant wait to hear this dam thing on the 11th!!!
  11. You might have a little competition on the park and pound... just saying.... lol!
  12. Ahhhhh makes perfect sense! I listen to only decaf and pimp! They need a dam DC/PMP (decaf/big pimpin track) loL! I am gonna regain here in a few mins! Thanks!
  13. 7?? lol thats your reason right there, use track 5. What is the difference?? (I was thinking that was for SQ and 7 was for SPL?) Also, thank you for the help!
  14. anyone who knows about the DD1, I have a question... When you set the gains with the DD1, is the distortion point gonna change if you are running at .25 ohm, .5 or 1 ohm? How about when the voltage drops? The reason I ask is I just set the gains with the DD1 but... The subs get hot as hell fast... Now, I was told that if you can keep the voltage up a DC 5k should do about 6500-7k at .5 ohm. So that means each sub is seeing about 1700 each, how long does it take to break these dam things in??? LOL! Other than being stiff still (I played moderately for 12 hours while driving home)(With an occasional blast here and there) the only thing I can think of is that at .5 ohm it is clipping.
  15. Yeah, Berkley isn't the ghetto, the 3 blocks behind it are! Worse place I lived is in downtown orlando on Orange Blossom Trail and washington... that was ghetto! lived right next to a crack hotel!!!
  16. I prefer the rednecks... racism and ghetto isnt for me. I dont mind blacks or mexicans but sometimes they can be a pain in my a. According to some I'm a crazy cracka!! lmao I hang out with all races a party is a party!! Oh and when you get into auburndale one day maybe I can give you a demo lol Its nothing special at the moment and wont be for alot longer. According to a jeep certifed mechanic its either going to be my o2 sensor bad or my computer is about gone. If its the computer there goes 280 bucks:( Let me rephrase that.... Not rednecks... hillbillies... I am talking full on Deliverence hillbillie here.... And those who have been to where I live can vouge for that! LMAO! Sucks if it is your computer... what about from a junkyard, any cheaper??? And when I am in Adale I will post to see if you want to meet up and give me demo!
