@Captain0389 - I have a Kenwood headunit, running a Hifonics BXI1610D, with 2 12" Alpine Type R's. @Sammitch0, @tonedeaf, @kranny - Why is there an option for bass boost if it produces clipping?

So there's this option called bass boost on Kenwood head units, and I was just wondering what it does, besides giving more bass. There are 2 settings to it, "Bass Boost 1" and "Bass Boost 2". Would this clip my amp/subs if I have it on?
