I give about a week or two break in. Turning the bass up slightly each day. Its hard to not turn it up. Thats a good way to test a mans self control. Haha
-
Or sell the 1200 and get a 2200.
-
I believe the break in myth. But someone will probably come around and slap me in the face and say it's not true. Tons of people debate both ways.
-
I would say second AQ1200 and strap them. Your not going to find something for the same price that puts out twice the power of one AQ. I mean an AQ1200 is only $260 or something I think.
-
What if you dont do a sealed off trunk build. Then could you fit all 4 in a ported box? Maybe something like two up, two back, and port side?
-
Well with either the Level 4 or the XL you could run an AQ2200 and be feeding them very well.
-
man, those trucks are a p.i.t.a. to work with when it comes to subs....honestly, i think you'd be better off doing 1 10 ported behind the seat...unless you want 2 do 1 12 sealed..
Its an Fi BL, they dont recommend sealing them. With a 12 ported he would need around 2 cubic feet. Is there not that much room back there?
-
Well since it's a single cab I guess your only choice is a slanted box behind the seat. Im not familiar with the Silverados so I dont know how much room you have exactly. Do you have the truck around to take measurments?
-
You could definitly fit a 12", Bigger is always better. Welcome to the forum

Fiberglass smells absolutly horrible so they will probably kick you outside anyway.
How warm is it outside? I fiberglassed two weeks ago and it was like 30 outside and everything turned out fine. May not be the best advice but it can be done.
-
Air bags? Bigger springs would make your ride rough. So I would say either helper bags or a full air setup.
-
I would trust the Soundstream to give you rated power.
-
If you wire them down to .5 ohms you can run the Soundstream TX1-2600D.
2600 Watts at .5 ohms.
But it would be more expensive. So I guess im not really helping the problem.....
-
I second RAM. Lower tuning is always better
-
Are those plans for two subs or one? They seem small for two subs. Wouldn't you want to tune lower for daily pounding?
EDIT: Or are those SPL boxes
-
Do the amps not have RCA in and out I assume?
-
Amazing doors! Really smooth and clean. I have never seen a mirrored sub box like that. Interesting

I love working on cars and loud music. I love when the bass hits and everything shakes. I also love building things from scratch. One of the best things about car audio is being able to point and tell people "Yea I built that from scratch."
-
Will it only have probe tips? It would be cool if it had a second pair of leads that were RCA's so you could plug them right in to test the head unit for clipping. (Make sence?) Just a thought. It would be easier than probing the RCA's to get a signal. I know it's a little late in the developmental stage though to change things.
-
Will it be able to test at all hertz? Or just the 1kHz and 40Hz tone lights it has on it?
Looks sick. I want one.
-
Soundstream TX1. 2000D for $390
-
I take the long way almost everywhere I go just so I can listen two an extra song or two. Kinda sucks when your truck get 11 mpg......
-
If the amp has power then your problem spots are narrowed down to RCA's or the speaker wire to the sub. Do you have a digital multi meter? You can check for RCA voltage and check the ohm reading on the output side of the amp. That will tell you if any wires came loose inside the box.
-
they all looked ok but if one was blown wouldnt the amp not trun on?
Errrr... ok you might have caught me there. I had a problem with my Kicker once. It wouldnt turn on. I tried everything and got fed up and put everthing back the way it was. Magically two days later it turned on. Try praying to the amp gods.

I was just throwing out options so he has choices no matter what voice coils he has.
