  1. Thanks guys. I am just worried because I don't want to blow this one
  2. Bump! Subwoofer experts, pleaseeee help!
  3. Hey everyone, If I have a box tuned to 31hz and a sub with a Fs of 38, will the sub be damaged playing notes in the 20's? I'm a bit confused about that. Thanks! Hif
  4. Alright thanks. Do you know why my kinetik froze up like a block of ice? Also, is it ok to hook up an xs power 12v bat in parallel to my stock front battery? Thx in parallel you can, just make sure you fuse each battery withing 1 ft of the 12v line I heard that you need two of the exact same batteries or you'll end up undercharging or overcharging one of them. Might be wrong though...

  6. I second that. I had a single 12" Hifonics olympus in a prefab box. Couldn't even touch the lows. Then I got a new box tuned lower and built to specifications... man what a difference. My rearview mirror was useless after that lol! But my advice to you is to sell those and get a 15" if you can fit it. I'm not an expert but I can tell you that a good 15" will make you smile!

  8. Hey, I live in Canada and it gets really cold up here. Sometimes it goes to -35 celcius (-31f). My question is will your batteries take the winter abuse? I had a kinetik a couple years ago and it turned into a block of ice afer 3 days of not using the car. (Almost missed an exam because of it). Since then I have been very skeptical of using AGM batteries. Please educate me! I want to upgrade my electrical system a bit so I am looking at my options. Also, is it a good idea to wire up a new battery in the back to the stock battery in parallel? Thanks!
  9. so for all intents and purposes, a bend in the port is not necessary if your tuning is what you want it to be? so if I have a box like this: (view from top in 2d (lol)) and the tune is 35hz, will it be fine like this?
  10. I also am building a box for my truck... wondering the same exact thing as you
  11. How do you know what the "appropriate length" is? is it just for tuning?
  12. Yup, DD-1 is what I'm planning on getting for sure. Just make sure they have em in stock for me
  13. I will be getting the DD-1 near december ish... so this advice is golden for me! Thanks!!
  14. Thanks for the help! Should be very clean power now
  15. new pic in case old one doesnt work
  16. Hey! Thanks for the reply. So bass eq on amp should be zero'd out? And also, I have a remote "gain level" knob. That's why the gain is set to full on the amp because I control it from the remote. Should I ditch the remote and just use the amp to set it? If I put the voltage on the gain on the amp to match my radio voltage (4v), will the remote at max be the voltage on the amp (4v)? Thanks bud
  17. Hello all, Recently I've been called a noob. So, with that said, I am making this thread to fix that. I have a hifonics BXI2610D that is rated at 2600RMS. I have recently blown a 15" BTL. I don't want this to happen again... I am trying to learn but I am a bit confused when it comes to bass boost. I realise that the gain is supposed to be set to the voltage on your head unit. Currently my eq is flat, bass boost is off on the headunit, subwoofer is set to +6 (max). I have two questions: 1. I have "BASS EQ" setting on my amp.. should that be set to 0? 2. I have a "level" knob that connects to the remote connection on the amp. Should I ditch this? The installer cranked the amp gain 100% and is using the remote as the gain. Is this good? I am not impressed with the installer's work and now am determined to do all my own installing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a pic of my gains..
