  1. I'm sure if a Canadian won one of these contests they would be willing to pay shipping and duty on the product(s). They could put that in the terms of agreement. On another note, thanks for making this contest for those who can enter. Really nice of DC to do this around the holidays; hopefully it will bring happiness to a few bassheads this holiday season. Cheers!
  2. Soudqubed subs will give you the wow factor, if installed in the proper box. In my experience, it's 20% equipment, 80% install. There's lots of brands to choose from and each one you can't really go wrong: DC Sundown Soundqubed PSI Ascendant Audio FI SSA Incriminator Audio American Bass ..... etc.... There's lots more. I think you're going about this the wrong way. You should be choosing your sub(s) based on what power you will be running and how much space you have. Hope this helps.
  3. I would say offer 5k as is and get the repairs done yourself. That way you'll know that it got done right with no cut corners.
  4. I've had no problems with Sirius/XM clipping (I haven't tested it though). I get more issues from my iPod music
  5. I've had it for 5 years now and I love it. The sound is not as loud as my iPod though... But it's still great. Clarity is CD quality.
  6. Most people run their batteries in parallel. So + to +, - to - (front to back). You'll want to get two similar (if not the same) batteries so that they do not discharge eachother. I hope someone with more experience can chime in for you...
  7. Looks like you already know what you want bro! For that kind of cash you'll most likely end up with a civic.
  8. What's your budget? Or did I miss that?
  9. I would take it to a reputable shop asap and have them check it out for you. It will cost you but take it to a pro before it ends up costing you even more.
  10. I would say build a new one out of MDF.
  11. I'm already using them. Maybe the floor of my hatch isn't steady enough? Because it has the plastic false floor that seperates the box from the spare tire well.. thats probably why the false floor doesn't allow the screw to actually attach to anything that will hold it steady xP This. Or maybe the bracing snapped inside?
  12. Another benefit of driving slow is that you have more time to bump music!
  13. Be sure to stay away from Kinetik. I am a fan of XSPower. I just bought 500 bucks worth of wire off of them. With that said, I would go with what suits your budget/performance requirements. I have seen people run Suriken's without issues. If it was me, I would bet on the sure thing: XSPower.
  14. Where in ontario are you? I'm in Ottawa...
  15. You can easily build the box yourself. Use torres box calculator to design it (or you can pay someone on the forum to do it) it'll generate a cutsheet. Then go to homedepot or lowes or your local lumber yard and have them cut your wood for you (if you don't have a saw) and then just glue/screw it all together. You can't go wrong with Pioneer head units IMO. I have had good luck with them. Kenwoods are nice too. It all depends on the features you want. For speakers, just go with something that fits your budget. You may want some components up front. I know that DD (digital designs) has a great component set that's really resonable on the wallet. Best of luck!
  16. The reason your speakers sound bad is because you have stock speakers and stock radio. What I would do first: -Upgrade your radio to a 3 4v PreOut radio. You'll enjoy that. -Upgrade your factory speakers to some decent ones. I would go components up front and just some 2-ways in the back. -Keep the 2 10" Alpines and sell the 10" JL. Build a proper ported box for those 10's. It will sound much better than it does now. ---> If you don't want to keep the 10's I would go 2 12's or 1 15" with a new amp to match the RMS of the sub(s). But hey, that's just me
