  1. Oh for sure man! I might actually buy the 3rd D4 woofer sometime this week, depending on when I get to the bank. LOL Well right now I have RE SRx 15's (The new model) and they're only in a shitty 5/8 prefab box of about 1.6 CF after displacement with polfil, and RE reccomends 1.5 sealed for the 15's. They get somewhat loud for what they are. I think they will sound pretty good in 2.0 CF in some thicker MDF. And for Memphisbasshead, thanks so much man! your almost giving me a walkthrough lol! It's really helping me out. I didn't think you could wire 3 D4's into .8 haha then again I've never really dealt with more than 4 coils.
  2. I think Memphisbasshead is right, I really don't have enough space for two ported unless they go in 5 cubes which is too small. I played around with the calc last night and couldn't get anything spot on. Any seconds on the 3 15's sealed?
  3. Haha yeah i saw that right after I posted the picture an went "damn..." im gonna fix that right now actually.
  4. Ok thanks man! I went ahead and tweaked the port dimensions a little bit and got something within range...hopefully this is a little better. I know knowthing about ported enclosures. With new Port area, only difference is I don't have the port facing up. If someone who is good with sketchup would be willing to make an image, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated.
  5. I need some help with building a ported box for my 2 15's. I don't have any experience building ported boxes so I don't want to go out and spend good money on MDF just to fuck it up, that's why I came here. What I DO know is that the subs must be facing upwards due to lack of space for height. What I DON'T know is whether or not the port should be facing up as well, and even if the idea I have for the box design will work. The subs are RE SRx 15's, and RE suggests 3.0 CF per sub ported. My MAX dimensions are Height - 12" Width - 37" Length - 34" This is going in the back of a 92 corolla, so I don't have much space to go upwards. (Hence the 12" height") Here's what I tried to come up with in the Torres Calc I'm pretty sure I went wrong somewhere when doing the port dimensions, cause I'm pretty sure 3 inches for port length is too small to be 35 hz lol And here is what I am visualizing for the box itself. (My first time ever using sketchup, no tutorials or anything) I hope some of you here are willing to help me with this, I really don't want to take my car to the local shop. If anything is way off or extremely wrong, please feel free to tell me. I want to get this done right. Thanks!
  6. I love dubstep, this is something to add to my library! Great track man, thanks a lot.
  7. Seconds to that, especially at drive ins. I've got mine right above my headunit. Works great, never had any problems with it.
  8. Thanks for all the help guys, it opened my eyes a lot. I will most likely be getting the MDF cuts tomorrow from Lowe's and I'll go from there. I might post up some pictures too.
  9. Oh wow, thanks for the heads up man! I would have foolishly only done one coat. hehe =p
  10. Thanks man! I most likely will go out and buy like 5 cans of clear coat spray paint cause I don't have a spray gun nor do I know anyone who owns one. Would you recommend sanding on the actual picture before the clear coats?
  11. Well i'm not from the actual site, I just picked up the hobby cause I thought it looked like a lot of fun which it is. And thanks for the clear coat Idea, my only worry would be sanding the actual painting after primer sanding and before I Clear coat it. I have little to no experience with sanding an actual Picture on a box so I don't know if that would skew any of the colors or change the outcome of the picture. Thanks for the input though! I'm hoping I can get this done within the next two weeks or so.
  12. Hi all! Hopefully someone here can help me. I am planning on building a custom ported box using Torres' Box Calculator, and thought that If I did a custom paint job sort of thing on the entire box would look pretty sick. I do these Space paintings with Spray paint and thought instead of using boring old carpet, I thought space painting the box would look pretty cool. Here's a small example of some things I paint that I could put on the box. I would most likely do a white primer over the entire box first and let it dry and then actually do the spraying over the white so it would be like one big white canvas. My Question is, what could/should I use over the finished product to keep it from getting sticky in hot weather and getting damaged (Scratches, Sticking to carpet in trunk, etc)? Thanks for any input guys.
