  1. I was going to have tool maker make me adapters to adapt to a 6 bolt pattern. I plan on using the new AQ baskets
  2. Hey so i have 2 solo X 12" motors, these are the 3" coil motors. I was wondering if anyone has any information on the motors, such as how strong they are, quality of the design etc. I want to build some customs from these motors but am unsure if they are worth rebuilding into 2 18's. Any information is appreciated MG]http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b19/burzendowski/36f08a51.jpg[/img]
  3. i have 2 AQ 18s in a 6th order that just get down rite nasty
  4. That is very true, This will work well doing demos sitting still.
  5. Cool.... The thing about the tow mode is it doesnt use power like the headlights do which i would think is a plus. Perfect for sitting still doing demos. I did not know the headlight trick but no that i think of it my voltage was always better in the dark lol....
  6. So i found some interesting information on the 05-08 general motors half tons. They have a Regulated Voltage Control (RVC) system which lowers your charging voltage to improve gas mileage. The RVC system reduces the alternators output voltage to 12.6-13.1 volts when in "Fuel Economy Mode", this feature is bypassed if the tow/haul feature is enabled. With the tow/haul feature enabled the system will stay in "Charge Mode" and the targeted generator output voltage will be 13.9-15.5 volts, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature. heres the gm tech letter Some owners may comment that when towing or hauling a camper/trailer that their auxiliary battery for the camper/trailer battery will not stay charged. In most cases, this concern is blamed on the new Regulated Voltage Control (RVC) system. While the new RVC system does reduce the generators targeted output voltage to 12.6-13.1 volts when in "Fuel Economy Mode", this feature is bypassed if the tow/haul feature is enabled. With the tow/haul feature enabled the system will stay in "Charge Mode" and the targeted generator output voltage will be 13.9-15.5 volts, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature. Recommendation/Instructions: To correct this concern while towing or hauling a camper/trailer use the Tow/Haul feature. Note: A second way to increase the generators targeted output voltage to 13.9-14.5 volt, is to turn on the headlights. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". 10. reason i ask is because one of my subs went down. I have not yet pulled the sub but i can hear the coils, the one sub has a coil unwound. It went down while i was sitting in a parking lot playing some tracks tuning my amp. I was watching the subs the whole time, they were not moving very much and they were not being clipped. I could not smell any coil until after it went down, the one sub sounded scratchy very fine like got worse in a couple seconds then it was done. i dont understand why this happened, the sub is a dd 9515 kevlar cone and cap. The sub has gotten stinky in the past but i always let it cool down when it does. The sub is less than 45 days old. my box is a 6th order rear chamber per woofer is 1.75 cubic ft. there is 2" from pole vent to the back of the enclosure. Something is not rite here, i feel its the enclosure
  11. Yea i understand a clipped signal causes more heat, i was just curious about enclosure size also.
  12. Does the size of an enclosure have an effect on subwoofer cooling? Does a smaller vented box cool better the same or less than a larger vented box? Daily enclosure speaking. From the past few boxes ive had seems that my subs take longer to get stinky in a larger vented box, my newest box is small compared to the other and the coils seem to heat up quicker.
  13. Looking for a digital designs 9500g motor or a 9510g 9512g 9515g. Any size any coil as long as the motor is a G and in working order. Any price.............. please pm me.
