Actually, If its easier I would like one giant amp that would power the two subs above 1500 but below 2000 (would have to make my box bigger don't want to do that) I don't even have any of the necessary equipment to set gain or cross over on both amps.

The rms rating would to past what the designer of ram designs said. Plus I do not have that type of money or electrical to run two Skar 2500's .

Space is not the issue but I've been emailing Ryan at RAM designs and he said that for the box that he is designing (already paid for) the power should not go past 2k for each sub or my box would have to get bigger which is something I don't want to do. I need some room to put the battery and amp. I don't think that the Skar 4500 would fit on my back seat. Edit: I don't have to keep it all Skar but I don't know what amp I would need to power the ZVX's at over 1500 rms a piece.

I was going to put the amps on the back seat on the passenger side. What amp do you suggest to power two ZVX's so that I get 1500+ rms to each subwoofer?

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo so space is readily available, But I have a giant box going in the back of my trunk that is 40" wide x 18" tall x 28" deep. But I am getting a second battery also. I should have enough space for two 1500.1D's. So if the the amp is 930 watts at 2 ohms not strapped then does that mean that when strapped its 1860 at 2 ohms? If that's the case then its to small for what I want, I'm confused is all.

So I don't need to run the ground wire for the slave amp? I would like to run one amp to each subwoofer at a 1 ohm load each. I am kinda limited on space, but the real reason is that I to run both subwoofers at around 1500 watts a piece or close to it, in which case the skar 1500.1's do 1680 rms at 1 ohm. What is the rms of 2 ohm strapped of the skar 1500.1's?

Ah okay, so the links to the online manuals don't work for you either. I'm just curious of the 85.4 amplifier is all. What I'm really looking for is the manual to the SK-15000.1D and the Skar ZVX 15's I am probably getting two of each. I just want to know how hook each amplifier up to each sub then connect each amplifier to my head unit. I've never had 2 subwoofer amplifiers hooked up to a single head unit in my car.

I'm actually trying to look up all three I'm just curious is all lol.

I just tried looking up the user manual's for the SK-1500.1D, SK-85.4 A/B amplifiers and the ZVX-15" Sub and when I click on the link to go to the pdf files it sends me to a 404 page. Is this just my computer being stupid or are they really not there? There were there like a few days ago but now their not.

While that helps it does not tell me how much it puts out at 13.8 volts no one can give you an exact measurement man. Cuz no one has your exact install,,,,plus it will go up or down with voltage fluctuation and box rise. An approximation is the best your gonna get without buying one and clamping it yourself. Couldn't have said it better myself lol That and .6 ish volts difference is minimal and probably won't even be noticed. =) So I shouldn't worry then?

I'm looking to purchase 2 vvx subwoofers powered by a skar audio 2500/1. Can the a single VVX handle 1000 watts? Or how many watts the 2500/1 will put out divided by 2 subs.

Can anyone else give input? I'm looking for new speakers. Help please.

I forgot to mention in the opening post that I have about a $300 - $500 budget for speakers. I don't know what passive or active means so if someone could explain that that would be great. As said I'd like to have 6 sets of tweeters IE, 2 in the dash, 2 in the front dash A-Pillar, and 2 in the rear back seat A-pillar or in the trunk area where the subs will be going. I have Hertz and I was not to impressed when I first got them. I only have Hertz tweeters and a pair of Hertz 6x9's in the front both Deci series, I know its the lowest of the low in the Hertz category but they are decent, but I want something different. When I went to the local audio shop they showed me both JL Audio speakers and Morel Maxis, and Tempo. Both of which speakers sounded better than the Hertz Hi-Energy series. But the reason for posting is because I would like to have something different other than what they carry I don't want to be in the same group of people that have what the local audio store carries. Its just not my can of Pepsi lol. I have looked at O2 Audio, Oxygen Audio, Crenscendo Audio, Beyma online but I only have videos on youtube that probably don't the speakers any justice. But if anyone has had any of these speakers please chime in as I would like to purchase them so my Jeep can be different from any other car around. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I am looking for some new speakers for my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with the Premium Infinity Sound System. Well I don't exactly have the entire infinity system out of my Jeep yet. Let me run though as to what I currently have and what I will be upgrading to the future. Here is the list of what I have currently: 1. Autotek SS 400.4 (Current Speaker Amp) 2. 1 pair of Hertz Deci Tweeters (Dash Tweeters stock location) 3. 1 pair of Hertz Deci 6x9's (Front door speakers) 4. 1 pair of STOCK Infinity 6.5's (Rear Door) 5. x1 Alpine MRP0-1000 (Subwoofer amp at 4 ohms 600 watt at 2 ohms 1000 watt's rms) 6. Boston Acoustics SPG Oval subwoofer 13.5" (1000 watt rms @ 2 ohms) 7. Ran 0/1 awg though Jeep 8. KIV-BT-900 Kenwood Multi-Media Head Unit. This is what I'm upgrading to EXCLUDES Speakers: 1. x2 AudioQue HDC 3.0 15" (1000 watt rms @ 2 ohms) 2. x1 Bass Clef Series BC3500 (Subwoofer amp) 3. PowerBastards 110 amp at idle (220 @ 1200 RMS) 4. Pioneer DEH-80PRS (Head Unit) That's it for my current setup its not bad but I want to upgrade as I have been rocking the same speakers for 2 years and for the sub and amp I have been rocking them for more than 4 years and its time to upgrade. As for the system coming I need new speakers to be able to keep up with the demands of my new up coming system. But I don't know where to start for new speakers. I'd like to do a front stage 3 way 6x9's in the front doors, component 6.5's in the rear door with separate tweeters, and I don't exaclty know what to put up front for the dash speakers (2.5" tweeters was in stock location) I want to put 6 tweeters in my Jeep 2 in the front dash, 1 tweeter in each of the windshield a Pillar and 1 tweeter in each of the trunk space pillars. I was thinking that the Skar Audio VVX 12's that come in a custom box. I really want to hear Skar Audio in person and the new 1500 watt subwoofer thats coming out may be my next woofer....

I read the OP and thought that it's going to be darn hard to get a decent system for $1,000. Bass for $1,000? Yes. Entire system? That's going to be tough. Like others have said, buy off the net, not from any brick and mortar shop to pull it off. JMO. yeah the only way to get an entire system for 1000 bucks is to check out the classifieds or look at your buddy craigs list. you can easily piece together a nice sounding system for 1000 buying on craigslist Is craigslist really dependable for Car Audio? I mean buying cars is one thing but car audio equipment? Yes that is very true my friend has only heard my system and my friends system so hes very limited knowledge when it comes to Sound Quality and systems. The more I think of it the more right you are. My system is far from sound quality nore does it stand up to any of the systems on this website but I like my system. He has no idea what TRUE sound quality is and neither do I but I've been in the car audio world since 2008 not very long IMO. His current system is all stock. Stock speakers, Stock head unit, Stock everything. What would you recommend for speakers, amp, sub for $1000?

Thats what I was told also not to get anything from the HIFI line because they do not do rated RMS. I ran 1000 watts on my Mazdas 70 Amp Alternator and the alternator died when I was driving. Not the best experience.

The Skar VVX subwoofers lool beautiful and I will tell my friend about them. Do you have a video of the VVX's on youtube?
