hi was wondering if i was doing something wrong here. i used the dd1 on my head deck, says clean power all the way to max volume. so i set the h/u to max and put the dd1 on my memphis eq/line driver. says clean power all the way to max volume, then i go to the amp and even on no gain it is distorting... amp is a dc 5.0k with solid electrical.
any body else have a similar issue? cheers

If you need help locating m2 Level 6 motors let me know. Would be a bit expensive to ship, but they are out there.
yeah they suck to ship to Australia, if you could let me know that would be awesome, im looking for at least two more.
-
the lvl6 is different. the M3 is a bigger motor.
m3 lvl 6's came out a while ago. the basket will be a change made to them to allow them in 15's though
kevin Is correct, and to get even more detailed none of the motors through the level 6 series are the same, the M1 / M2 / M3 all had there own motor design. The m3 version is larger than the m2. The m3Lv6 has been out for around a year in a 18" size only. This new frame will allow a 15" version of the Current M3 level 6
thanks for the clarification Rusty, appreciated.

damn well that sucks. really dont want to have to buy another 6 18s, when i could buy 2 and rebuild 4. unless i can get 2nd hand motors

Very good point there. Happy I can add more woofers to my collection
-
Im pretty sure the difference is just their new basket and larger spiders to accommodate the new basket which makes them the m3 line, motors are all the same through out the series.
awesome! that made my day. cheers mate

HI i was hoping somebody in the know could answer if there is a difference between the motors of the m2 and m3. basically i have 4 m2 lvl6's now and want some more, im happy to recone my current woofers to match in the soft parts i just need to know if the motors are the same as i dont want to buy a 6-8 new subs when these motors are fine... plus there is bugger all of a market where i am for subs this big so on selling these and buying again is not really viable....
cheers

just read through some of those comments, in general you seem to get a lot of wankers commenting. there are a lot of people that just can't help themselves and run their mouth to try and be a hero. if you don't like, maybe try to ask some questions to understand it.

Id be more then willing to ship you some glue, but you would have to pay the shipping, and not sure on how much that would be considering Im in the usa and your in aus.
But I did always kind of want a baby kangaroo, thought those are kinda cool so maybe ill cover the shipping of glue if you cover shipping of a baby kangaroo?
LOL , mate nearly fell off my chair when i read that.
I would be happy to pay for the glue and shipping. i have an account with a company that has a us postal address and will foward the goods onto me for copmanies that dont ship outside the u.s. let me know how much for the glue and shipping to florida and i can paypal or give you card details... cheers mate
-
You should have ordered glue with your recone, most companies will sell you small amounts which is enough to do the recone for about 20ish dollars.
You need a high tensile strength shock resistant thick viscosity CA Glue.
unfortunately the aus distributor didn't order some i guess. i was hoping it came with it, thanks for the response
-
ok so now I have the recone, is there any special type of ca glue to use? brands or chemicals etc
I watched Showtime SPL video on youtube and he used a silicone style adhesive to join the motor to the basket and for the dustcap, the product he used isn't available in Australia, so I was hoping to use sikaflex which is a polyurethane sealant/adhesive do you think that would be suitable?
cheers for any info and advice

cheers, though i may have worded that wrong the eq is the line driver as well if that make sense... it probably isnt technically a line driver but anyway i wont dwell on that lol.. but what you are saying makes perfect sense.
this may be a dumb question but would this excess of voltage cause clipping from the amp? as the subs are getting hot and smelly really quickly..
