I mean if its just for colledge anything with a warranty and a good battery life will do, Any kind of full size laptop will run anything ud really need for colledge fine.

Custom built is the way to go like its been said above me but its not a bad computer, i5 is nice but I perfer amd for the price, esp. since there hexacores are coming out, u should really look into building one if u havent.

The asus has longer battery life because its a 8 cell battery, you can buy that for any computer from ebay if you wanted, I mean I perfer asus over sony and dell anyway but if your going to the asus just for the battery life keep that in mind .
