I'm telling u if u make that box as big as you possibly can an squeeze out a inch or 2 on ur face plate then it will fit
it cannot get any bigger and will not fit dude, i've been making boxes for years. I just wanted to know about the OTHER firing options.
-
there she blows caption... i believe it should work. place your subs higher up instead of centering them. about as close to the top as you can get. then put them as far apart as your can. and you should be able to squeeze that port right down there at the bottom snugged up against the sides of the woofers between/below them. iv see it done before.
then u can face it rear and it should slap quite nice.
Its an 8 inch port

fyi, this kid drives a 96 maxima, with ONLY cold air intake
-
A pair of them??
no 3! lol
from what i've heard, i do not think they would object.
-
oh haha im not saying you cant make your own, i made one for my friend, but it came out a lil crooked haha
-
a pair of these bad boys!
-
well he said he used a flaring machine.
-
That is a bad ass port by the way man!!! How did he flare the PVC out like that? Did he just heat it up and do it very slowly and carefully?
na i think he said he has some kinda machine for it
-
sir, you are brilliant. Kam311 FTW.

years ago, i made a swap from a powerbass xl to a rockford p3 and there was a HUGE difference
-
I was inspired by Rob Wolcott's 8 inch aero and wanted one just like it. Then I ended up finding out that I know the guy that made his. So I definitly got one.
Check out that crucial Icehouse tallboy as comparison.
WHAT COLOR SHOULD I PAINT IT?

Sound stream maybe ?
eh i was looking at soundstream, and thier powerhouses are rated at like 3200 @ .5 (or something like that), and i dont wanna run a half ohm daily driver.
-
im looking for a new amp, but im not trying to spend more than $400. Prefferably between 2500-3000 watts. Im looking at some hifonics amps and the audiopipe 3000d. Will these give out true clean power? Any recommendations?

pvc, mdf, and wires are like gold to me

thinkin bout level 4s or 5s, get at me!

This is probably my favorite song to bump to. Loudest metal song i've heard. Constant 808s and bassdrops, heavy kickdrums. Definitly something to give a listen to. Not to mention, the singer's got a really good voice.
-
build a rack on the other side of the box, angled facing the cabin.
-
yeah i ran 4 tens daily for a while on real low power and i was still hitting some okay numbers. i kinda wish i kept them around to throw more power on.
-
Now I have everything firing forward sealed off. I've done the measurements and I can fire the 15's forward sealed too. Would probably need to build it in the trunk though.
building in the trunk? sounds like a pain in the ass. i dont think any gain in dBs would convince me to wanna do that.
-
Yeah, that does make it a tight fit. You may need to end up with Front Subs and Side Port....
do you think there will be much of a loss with the port to the side?
-
oh and no idea how big the flare is gonna be
-
How big is the trunk? Because if you have 34" (w) x 15" (H) faceplate, you should be able to squeeze them all on the same side...
What will be the diameter of the flare?
the most i can do wide is 32, and the highest i can go is 14.5 (with the box being 24d)
-
What are the woofer sizes and the Xmaxx? Because it sounds like you are going with an Aero port. Have you considered a slot setup?
the woofers are 12"s and the xmax is 20mm i believe. i've done dozens of slot port builds in my days. just talked to a guy from TNESPL yesterday and he said hes gonna build me the 8" flared port for a STUPID good price. im just weighing all of my options right now. its starting to look like my best option is subs back port side...
-
Rear / Rear is the best configuration for most Trunk based ported setups; unless you are going to be setting up a trunk wall and sealing the trunk from the cabin.
i wont have enough on the rear of the box to fit 2 subs and an 8 inch port
off topic for THOR!
