  1. i need help on getting the wire from the sub to the amp. i don't want to cut holes in the box to put the wire through. Ive seen people use like... bolts and the put those into the box, then attach the wire to those. is that efficient? or can someone recommend me a way to do it. thanks

bolts is the best way to do it. It secured and air sealed.

what can i use to keep the bolt from spinning when i connect the wires? i dont wanna take a sub out and hold the bolt every time i wanna rewire from 4 ohms to 1.

  2. Vehicle:

    2007 Subaru Impreza sedan

    Substage Equipment:

    15 inch Rockford T2 ( Dual 4 for what it's worth )

    Rockford T1000-1bdcp

Here is where I would like to get everyones opinion about my " issue " with my car. My problem is that loading an enclosure will be tricky because my trunk lid opening is low and narrow; which leaves me with no other option then to build in the trunk. Next is I can't decide for the life of me how big I want it and where I want the port to fire. I'm leaning towards porting through the armrest in my backseat but would consider porting through the rear deck. I would like to tune it around 30hz or so.

How do you guys think I should build it, where should I fire the port, etc.

i had the same problem with my trunk. i dont like firing port towards the cabin, because it seems to me that low end response isnt as good. i tried sub up, port back and it sounded great. idk how small an impreza trunk is, but with my car, i did 32w x 14.5h x 24d with a port that was 13h x 4w and 19 inches long, tuned to 35. left me with about 4 cubes after port displacement. crystal clear and hit lower than a mothafucka

  3. IMO, i would go with a single 6, 8" seems like it'd be too big for those woofers

no proven difference between an aero or a slot, depends on the box tbh, my old slot port box sucked for my sa12s, went with an aero and shits beast, and moves hella air, my buddy had aeros for his 8s, went slot and got the same results as me

imo, if your tight on space i'd go aero.. and where you plan on having port located? going for numbers with port on driver side?, subs and port firing back, or towards the cabin?

every other source is telling me that for the box size, a 6" would be too small, and an 8 would be perfect. I plan on subs back, port side. Does it really matter what side the port fires from?

  4. If your only getting a single AQ 2200, why spend the extra money to get two subs. Just get one AQ HDC3 and be happy. It'll take up less space, and you save 300$. Just my opinion. What vehicle btw?

Im just brainstorming ideas for my next car or truck (getting this fall). i'm thinking 2 subs, mainly because i'm a "never satisfied" type of guy. I know (vehicle depending) that one sub wont do it for me. if i end up getting a coupe or hatch, yeah all i'll need is a 15, but then again, if i end up just getting one sub, im gonna want 3k+.

  5. would you go with the aq2200-d, PowerBass ASA1500.1Dx, RE Audio XTX5000.1, or give me your honest opinion i'm probably going to be running a 1-18" RE mt spl, or either the btl, or soundstream if i can get my hands on them. Mechman 270 alt, will probably go with 1-2 Kinetik HC1800, yellow top will serve for my car alone. Box will be build to 6.7^ft tuned to 32hz with a slot port

And i was thinking 8 gauge for speaker wire

id go with the AQ. I would completely direguard the powerbass and RE. Personally, i think i would do a hifonics BRZ2400d...maybe.
