simple search will yield easy and affordable results. All you have to do is ask for help and be respectful and you will get much more than you ask for here.

thank you man, i really appreciate your effort to help. i know about all those amps, and they're all damn good, but i think ive narrowed it down to the american bass 80.1 and the hifonics brz1700.1d, but im just trying to figure out which would be better for me.

  2. I have a BNIB Planet Audio BB2400.1 for $300 plus ship. PM me if you are interested.

oh yeah i forgot to mention, dont try and sell me your amps, i wont even consider it.

you almost got some advice, now you don't, asshole.

Edit: and having an amp to "move some air" with 2 type r 12's better have a big ass fan on it.

??? i didnt direct that to you... did i hurt your feeling with what i said to him?

  3. i just ordered a pair of the new Type-R's (600rms each), and i'm trying to upgrade from my T500-1bdCP. The T500 puts out 800rms (which im just gonna keep it around to break in the alpines), but im trying to find something for when i wanna move air.

I'm runnin a stock batt, stock alt, with the big 3 upgrade, so i'm not trying to do any more than 1500rms. I will be running at 1ohm. Prefferably in the $200-$300 range.

my friend wants to sell me his American Bass 80.1. It supposed to do 1000rms @ 1 ohm (i think) but i dont know whether these amps are underrated or overrated. It was really loud in his SUV. does anyone have some info on these?

Im also looking at the Hifonics BRZ1700.1d. The specs say that it requires 2guage wire, when my car is run with 4guage. can i get away with using the 4gauge? i expect this amp is a little bit overrated, but does anyone really know?

  4. I was told they replaced the vfl's 1500 rms 3k peak and up to 10k on a burp.

i talked to bob from american bass the other day because i was undure about the HD series amps too. he said that the HD series is basically replaceing the VFL series, because people would look at the 100.1 and think its a 100 watt amp when in all reality, it puts out 1500rms.

basically, all i know is that the HD1500 is replacing the 75.1 (750rms at 1), and the HD2500 is a cross between the 80.1 and the 100.1 (1250rms at 1). I'm unsure about the rest of the line, he seriously needs to update the website.

  5. honestly, look in the manual. it should say something like "sensitivity 87dB" im not sure what it means, but i think it means... chances are you wont score higher than that on termpro.

Standard format for measuring loudness using 1 watt for power and measuring output from 1 meter away.

And considering it's measured using a single watt, yes you should be able to get quite a bit louder then that.... :trippy:

im using a 1 watt amp? dont you? i thought thats what it was telling me to do...

  6. I'm really trying to figure out what i should do when i upgrade this summer. I'm diggin the audioques ALOT. The question is, which subs to get.

My amp is a T500-1bdcp that does over 800 at 1 ohm.

    I'm either thinking

    Two SDC2.5 12s in 4cu/f at 33hz

    or

    One HDC312 in 3(ish) cu/f at 33hz

Basically what i'm looking for is very loud bass that will make everything blur and i still wanna maintain decent sq.

I KNOW i will be underpowering whatever i get, but i seriously plan on grabbing a AQ1200d later on down the road. My Fosgate is just too new, too fresh and WAY TOO distortion free, even when being generous with the gain knob. Not to mention, i really enjoy how shiny it is hahahaha.

So which sub(s) should i go with??

  7. I have heard so many things about what would be the best way to go about getting the most out of this kind of setup but I just don't know which is best. If you guys had this equipment what would you do with it? How would you install it? Please give me your recommendations as far as ported vs sealed vs bandpass etc. Everything is purchased and I am waiting to sort out the details on the install.

Thanks in advance for your help.

PS this will ultimately be a daily setup geared more towards r&b, salsa, reggaeton and some rap.

    1988 Chevy Caprice Classic 305 v8

    SUBS:

    (2) RE AUDIO XXX-D2 12"

    MONO AMP:

    Sundown SAZ-4500D.1

    Front Stage:

    HERTZ HSK 163 COMPONENT 3-WAY

    4 Channel Amp:

    Sundown SAX-100.4

    Electrical:

    DC POWER 240 AMP Alternator

    2 XS Power D3400 Batteries

    1 XS Power S1200 Battery

Sick setup, definitly go custom ported. Tuned between 30-36. ehhhh idk how much box you could fit in a caprice, but i'd say 6-8ft and i really hope your not thinking about a pre-fab box...
