  1. I don't know about your sub control... but mine varies the RCA voltage and doesn't boost any particular frequency. No problem at all with that
  2. Thanks all I think it has more in it too... sub was well behaved still at this point.
  3. The sound is delayed by 90 degrees... the same effect that a 6 dB passive crossover network would have on the phase angle. Most likely you will never need the phase knob.
  4. So there is a popping while playing music ? Are the subs reaching mechanical limits ? Also... unhook the remote knob and see if it stops.
  5. Need some more information about when it occurs.
  6. That is a little high on the power side... you would need to use caution on the gains.
  7. 53 Hz -- same as always with my single 15" box as it is my vehicle resonant peak.
  8. First burp... HU @ 0 position on sub control. Matched best score ever with the Monster at any time (155.3) -- best I ever did at my shop on my meter was 155.1 dB, though. Now... HU at +3 position ! MY BEST SCORE EVER -- one OR two subs Man I am excited... 155.9 was my best before with two Nightshade 15s and four 3000s on an 18v system. This time... ONE NS v.2 15" and two SAZ-4500Ds on 12 volts !
  9. The aluminum ring purpose is as follows : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=60550 Read all the way through (my posts). The top / bottom plate holes / machining are indeed for cooling the coil. The top plate vents are not extremely active until the 18" model as it uses a 6-spoke non-vented basket. I won't have to use the spacer nuts any more. They give the coil a little bit of fresh air on all sizes, though
  10. For a bass drum "hit" the sub moves ~40-50 times per second -- you can't tell if it moves forward or back first with your eye The phase knob at 180 is indeed equal to reversing the wires.
  11. Different build house on these (board color)... I have been considering doing away with the fancy connectors on the other amps as well, they are the reason for the incompatibility with some RCA cables.
  12. Minimal break-in time... just a few minutes on the bench: RE (Series): 4.33 ohms Fs: 30.3 Hz Qes: 0.519 Qms: 7.250 Qts: 0.484 Le: 4.743 mH Vas: 29.077 L BL: 22.168 NA Cms: 89.22 uM/N Mms: 308 g Took a few minute break from shipping 4500s and measured these bad boys... I expect Fs to drop to 25 Hz or so with full break-in... which will take probably a week or so of play on these.
  13. Will start shipping them ASAP. These things are HEAVY!
  14. Called them and they are out for delivery to me... hopefully in time to start shipping them today.
  15. I am getting enough sent in by air to cover the pre-orders... that should be pretty quick. My shipping company tells me around a week to my door. I will be shipping ALL of those out for folks that pre-ordered... the rest will follow in early to mid January.
  16. We are building a new box for my Jeep right now (Derrick is up again) to try to top 150 @ the dash with my pair of SA-8s
  17. Truck is, of course, late... but I have a tracking # of it being delivered to me. The "Overnight" service is going to get it to me Thursday... which is a little longer than overnight. Still going to try and stick to getting them all shipped by Friday! Will just have to work our butts off when they get here.
