  1. Price is TBA. ETA is TBA. This woofer weighs 34 lbs vs 26 lbs for the SA-12
  2. The goal is to equal or exceed the per watt performance of the SA line while also increasing power handling... with the great success of the SA series it is a bit trick to do but I think the next iteration samples should be what I need to make that happen. 12s will come first as with the SA line... then most likely 15s after that.
  3. Also... will get a magnet boot before production. Have to tool another one for this size magnet so the prototype doesn't have it.
  4. As previously discussed I'm working on a 1000-watt line -- I've had motor samples for some time... now I have full samples with production equivalent soft parts on the way. As of now I still have work to do in order to dial the specs in just right -- I have another coil / gap variation to test with. I am getting a pair of samples as they sit in to test with the soft parts then I'll be testing the last variation... then likely will be ready to start making 12s at that time. Cosmetically looks nearly identical to the SA-12 with the exception of a 20mm wider magnet, a different spider for the 3" coil, and double tinsel leads. You will note it has the new ventilation / spacer ring on it too. This line will fill the gap from the SA series to the Z series very nicely As you may have guessed by the name... this line will eventually feature a frame similar to our X-8 once all the sizes are tooled up. For now it will utilize the 4-spoke like the SA series.
  5. Very close to sold out so I am ending the pre-order on these now to leave room in case any were damaged in shipping to us.
  6. It was about 16% more power head-to-head under identical conditions at 1 ohm nominal after rise. The official clamp test thread was conducted at 0.5 ohm nominal -- therefore more power was seen. I would expect the different to be a bit smaller at 0.5 ohm, around 5-10% or so -- as the improvements to the 1500D v.2 were centered around the most gain in a daily system wired to 1 ohm and also to reduce size and further improve durability.
  7. I don't have the cost yet -- the motor estimate is running behind. Obviously it's not going to be cheap... the motor is larger than our SA series and every part above it is custom tooled -- but I will offer as good of a deal as possible on pre-ordering.
  8. They are shipping completely separate but the ETA is actually about the same.
  9. Will be back in the office tomorrow!
  10. We are closing both Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone -- if you are traveling be safe and have a good time with your families.
  11. Trade me another vehicle and get a 3500D
  12. Small motor chips have no effect on the subs performance -- but people don't like chipped magnets so I do what I can to prevent it with nice tooled foam packing, magnet covers, etc.
  13. The cost of the boot is tiny and doing logo or no logo is no difference. Just costs a bit to tool up the boot initially, which I don't add to the customer cost -- I like them as they also help prevent magnet chipping in shipping. If someone doesn't like it they can pull it right off -- many folks LOVE them.
  14. Thanks all Paid all tooling charges yesterday -- waiting on the motor quotes so I can estimate the customer cost.
  15. x2 -- I seriously intended the E8 v.2 for 200 RMS Suspension was tuned accordingly.
  16. Recently came back into stock but sold out again -- we have more coming with the SA-15 shipment due December 12th to 15th. These will have the new spider pack and significantly thicker tinsel lead wires to address the only somewhat common failure on the 8s -- burnt / broken tinsel leads.
  17. We started in 2006 -- part of the reason you may not have heard of us
  18. If you want SA-15s from the first run I suggest ordering now. We are about 70% sold out of D4 units and 50% sold out of D2 units already for the shipment coming in December 12th to 15th.
  19. I will not hesitate to assure you that these are superior to the 1508 in every measurable way.
  20. Updated shipment information -- we have most of the shipment in a big container but part is shipping LCL and they will arrive at different times : Container : ETA to Charlotte customs 12/12/10 LCL : ETA to Charlotte customs 12/8/10 Typically the items clear in a day or two from Charlotte if all goes smoothly -- so look for shipping 2nd week of December.

  22. The "wooshing" sound is air coming out of the frame vent holes.
