If you can, get 270a. It's little more expensive, but will be useful in future upgrades.

i saw my boy Jack (from the forum, and local to me), drop one of my old Chrome Irragi's in his Geo Metro. It was a 300a and it UNBELIEVABLY did great!! never heard it slip either. Thats more credit towards the installer then the product though because you wont get the same results unless you do it right, like he did.

it's all about idle amps that will put the strain on the motor when the RPM's come up it won't be as much as an issue. But make sure the belt has enough wrap and tension

A 320a or 270a can work, it's a matter of load at idle and belt size and wrap.
If the belt has insufficient wrap or is too small like a single-v or 4-rib it can cause slip. Proper tensioning and good belts are mandatory.
but a 270 would be lesse strain on the engine or is it a huge diff from 270-320 only 50 amps more

i wondering if a 1.8 liter 4cyl engine can take a 320amp alternator or should a 270amp alternator work better any one running a HO alternator on 4cyl engines?

id say 6 12s but that level 6 would be nice on that power i got a level 6 and im dieing to get it installed going to run 8k on the level 6 when i get my amp and the rest of the goodies but

Not sure about the batteries but only way to know is to do it and see what your voltage looks like and if need be add more batteries.
the batteries should get the job down but if not ill put 1 more in but they should be good lets see what happens

alright guys i have a question about voltage drop
this is what my electrical will look like for my system
if i can get a 400amp alternator
2 new max AGM 200ah batteries thy weigh about 150 pounds each in the back so thats 400ah
1 95 ah in the front
6 or more runs of 0 gauge and big 3
ima b running around 8000rms or higher depending on voltage
know do you guys think ill have a huge voltage drop or a not to bad voltage drop
ima trying to run a SD 8000.1 its rated 8000rms at 12.6
still learning a thing or 2 guys so thanks for your help
A 400 amp alt is fine for 8kW, but you'll run into voltage issues at idle.
What kind of batteries? Amp hours mean nothing.
3 runs of + and - are sufficient.
And with said electrical, yes, you will have significant voltage drop at full tilt. 400A charging @ 2k RPM will hold its own for a while, however.
Here's my 10k setup:
320A alt
5x HC2400s
2 runs +/2 runs -
Big 3, buss bars, etc.
I can run decently at idle, but I can't demo for hours. Worst I've seen is 12.9 under heavy abuse before I kill it.

Hey all, just felt like Telling you all about some reactions I've gotten from friends and family since putting my SC DD3515f on my DC2k. To start with, my reaction was priceless. I had high expectations for this system, and it blew those out of the water. As soon as the bass hit on Decafs In for the Kill, I busted out laughing, and couldn't control my smile. The pressure it puts out and the air it moves is insane (to me
). Now the next reaction is my uncles. Me and him have been having this friendly rivalry for almost a year now with seeing who can get louder than the other. He drove down here expecting his 4 12s to be louder than my 1 15, let's just say the minute the bass hit he was begging to turn it off, saying he's getting to old for this shit lol. I guess I'm winning ATM Final reaction story is when I pulled up at work, told a coworker/friend to come check out my new setup. I play In for the Kill (perfect demo song, no one expects the bass) and he jumped up in the air, me and another co worker were killing ourselves laughing, and the minute he got out he said that's the loudest he's ever heard, and that it's a bit too much.
These reactions are why I love car audio, I love the looks on peoples face, and I love the adrenaline rush it gives you when your getting slapped with tons of dBs lol...
hahahahhaah i bet that must of been fun i cant wait to get my system hooked up and see peoples reactions soon my build should be all done
