  1. I gotta question for Ernesto, what were you using to power your L7's, you hit like a 150.3 didnt ya?
  2. I'm trying to come up with ideas for 2 15inch L7's, 2 1500 watt amps in an explorer. i'm open to any and all suggestions, ported, sealed, big, small, lay'em on me. i'm leaning toward a smaller sealed enclosure this time, wanna try alittle something different this time.
  3. i should have made it clear i have 2 subs in that 8cu.ft. box, my bad.
  4. i got a question for steve or anyone else who might know, i wanna get some of those things steve but in his box for the tahoe that he bolts his port to. can anyone tell me more about those things and the elastomeric coating stuff he used?
  5. yeah, the new L7's kick a$$, right now i got mine in a 8cu.ft. ported box tuned to around 33hz running 1250W RMS each, still aint got it metered yet but i'm planning on it soon. what i was wondering is how much difference in sound would there be from let's say a 8cu.ft. box to a 6 cu.ft., if they are tuned the same?
  6. yeah thanks for the sites, but how close is too close for the port to be to the back of the box? for how big i'd like more port to be it's like 3-4 inches from the back of the box.
  7. I have a couple questions, what does having a ported enclosure "tuned at" mean, like 32hz? And I see on Meades box his port also has depth to it, how do you figure that?
  8. So if i was running 8cubes then I make my port 96sq.ins. Like a port 16"x6" right?
  9. this question is for steve, how did you calculate your port on the new box for the tahoe? i'm thinking of going with a similar setup.
  10. i gotta question for ya steve, have you ever got the navi metered? that thing is sweet :^
  11. i've heard that running two different kinds of batteries isn't the best thing to do, i.e. stock battery up front and yellow top optima in back.
  12. mine is a 98, yeah they said it sucked to try to get off so they wouldn't even mess with it. let's hear what everyone else is running in the explorers and expeditions?? hopefully i should have mine installed here in the next month.....hopfully cuz the stock system sucks ass.
  13. this one is for all the explorer owners out there, how much of a pain in da ass was your rear view mirror to take off?? my local tint shop and glass repair shop say that to get the mirror off you have to have a special tool that you have to wedge under the mirror and hit wit a hammer, and might break the windshield. we'll see how long it takes to come off when i get my new system in, maybe then when it breaks off i can finally get my damn windshield tint strip! let me hear ur explorer stories....
