  1. I fire forward and still have rear speakers. You just have to isolate them. Now if you dont seal off you'll get cancellation The difference is night and day from a full sealed to a half sealed. trust me.

this... although it is damn near impossible to completely seal it off, it does make a huge difference....

and no, firing forward isnt just about spl... its about getting loud and sounding good doing it, without the annoying trunk rattle...

Do what it takes to seal it off, if not dont waste your time ,just leave the subs facing rear .Its kinda like building a box out of 3/8 plywood ,why waste the wood, and why waste the time .Any job worth doing,is worth doing well.

  2. I'm currently running a 250hcca powering a single re mx15d1. Its currently wired for 2ohms and the amp just seems under powered at 2ohms. I'm look for a good amp for this sub to run at 2ohm. I would like to keep the price around 150-200. New or used is fine. Thanks

    Steve

Why dont you wire the sub to 1/2 ohm and see what it does.

  3. Nope and the funny thing is we put a powerbass 1500rms and that one dosent cut of,we sent it back in to the shop and they said that it gave them no problem

Question for ya .When you sent it back to the shop did they use the same head unit as you did ? probably not right .The reason i ask is i had the same problem with a pioneer deck and a memphis amp .If i switched out the head unit to a different brand like kenwood,or alpine ,the amp would work fine .Or if i used the pioneer head with a different amp like you did, everything worked fine .But the 2 together would give me problems .I talked to memphis and they said they never heard of this .So i took another pioneer deck, same model, and another memphis amp same model and installed it in a different car ,and had the same problem .About 5 months later i talked to a memphis rep and he said he had heard of this but didnt know why.

  4. i have 2 aqhdc 15s in their now but want to upgrade just for a killer daily system and after the club demo's . electrical covered i have big 3 with 3 kinetik 2400 in back an 1 up front an 270 ho alt

Well it sounds like you have the electrical to back up the sd5k .I would do 2 12in lvl4xl's. And ask Rob(thors)for some box measurements .Question for ya,how do you like the sd5k ,I had one and I thought it lacked quality for sound.

  5. Ive heard one person having them and saying they clamped them etc but thats it. It just kills me ryan. has nothing to do about being sensitive about products. I even have DC in my daily. amps were officially announced how long ago? they arent even on the website and people are talking about well made products, lets not forget what happened to DAT and wait and see what they actually do before everyone starts calling them a well built product. I dont think they will be junk but I didnt think DAT would have the problems they did either.

    What is DAT?

  6. are the newer power precision (ppi) amps any good i saw an advertisement for them in performance audio and started looking at them online and i am kinda curious about maybe running a sedona series on my dc lvl4 if they are any good

PPI use to be very good back in the day .But then DEI bought them out along with Orion ,and they seemed to go down hill .Why dont you look into the new DC Audio amps ,or Audioque amps ,or Sundown Audio.I think you will be happier with one of these choices .

i love it recommend an amp that isnt even on the market yet without any mention of what he is looking for. Fanboys up !

Sorry to be a fan of well made products with excellent customer service .And i am sure those companies i mentioned will have something that he is looking for ,unless he is looking for cheap junk.

  8. I have a very stout 270 amp 16 volt ES unit (charges at 18.5 volts) for $475 shipped. It has a simple single wire remote turn on, and is totally durable for daily abuse. It does 165 amps at idle, full output by 1800 rpm.

I don't have any dual brackets on the shelf for that truck, but I could probably fab you up a custom bracket/idler assymbly for about $500.

What if i were to use the 270 amp alt . with the 16volt es unit only. How would i go about charging my main 12volt battery(this will be a power cell also) and powering my trucks 12volt needs ? And would this bolt on directly where the factory one is ? Also I have seen some type of mods or step downs that can take the volts down to 12 from 16 ,not sure how they work or are wired though .do you have that avalibale? If so how much ? and how many do i need ? i can add an extra 16v power cell under the hood if needed ,i have lots of room .I have fuse links coming off my starter if you need to know that .this is my 1st 16v system ,thats why all the questions .My friend Rob Wolcott ( from Team North East Spl ,and DC Audio ) told me that i should buy from you ,he has tried a bunch of different alts.for his grand prix and said yours worked the best by far .So i am def. gonna go with you .i just dont wanna buy something and then later wished i went a different route. So any info / diagrams you can give me would be great . I will be looking at buying what i need within a month or so .Do you have this alt. in stock ? Or do you have to build it? Same with the step downs (if needed). What is the lead time either way . You can contact me at my e-mail ,which is [email protected] . Thanks for your time. Keith Mutka - Team 808
