  1. Well I'm sure I could find a better amp, but with the HU going for $1300, the sub at $259, the box about $150, wiring at $100, the amp around $240. That's a lil over $2000 already. This way he has a lil extra to work with if he wants anything else.
  2. Ok...wasn't sure. I know about 90% of the time subs will hold more than the advertised RMS power...but I wasn't sure how much on the Fi Q 12's. I'll find out if my Fusion NV-12 rated at 1000RMS can hold 1600RMS once my new amp gets here. Hopefully the guy can send it this week.
  3. They say 1000rms...but how much could they really handle daily RMS???
  4. Yeah, the amp would be the easiest to find...The sub is the hard part. The box would just be built most likely.
  5. He's not gonna do speakers right now. The car is brand new, so he wants to wait a while brfore he replaces them. Wiring $100 Sub $350 Box $200 Amp $400 HU $1300 (Pioneer Avic-N3) = $2350 What could I get for around those prices that would sound good daily in a conv???
  6. What about a Solo X 12 and ZX2500.1 amp?? Got any ideas on the box for that sub??? Think there's enough room in that trunk to fit a box big enough for a 12" Solo X??? I can't find any ZX2500.1's for sale, but I did find 8 Solo X 12's for $592 each shipped. How much you think a ZX2500.1 would cost???(don't matter if it's used or not.)
  7. That's what I was gonna go with for his HU. Not sure how much they go for up here or down there, but I can find out pretty easily. I've heard that's one of the top DVD/NAV units out now. Agree? And for the sub...He likes the idea of 1 12, ported box, with around 2500 watts...Suggestions there???
  8. Ok, ported then. What would be your pick for one sub in a ported box going into a conv. Remember he's got $2500 to spend between DVD/NAV...sub/box...amp...HU...and the little things to go along with it too.
  9. Your FB??? How do you think 2 L7 12's would sound in there sealed??? I've never even heard the new L7's in anything...
  10. Well he's already lowering it, new rims, the system, and some other stuff I'm sure, he hasn't told me all his ideas yet. He just got back from Iraq...so he has some money to put into it ya know. I'm just kinda helpin out with ideas along the way.
  11. He really had no idea what he wanted...I just made some suggestions to him and he agreed. He doesn't really care what it is or where I get it from as long as it hits hard and sounds good. I had no idea how small the trunk was til I saw that pic. He uses it daily and is in the Army, so he'd need some space in there for work crap too.
  12. I know since it's a conv, it'll need more just to sound near as good as a coupe would. I have a conv Mustang and I hate it. That's why I wanted to go with the DD 3512d's...But I know they'll need some good airspace to work right. Now that I've seen how small the trunk on it really is...Got any suggestions???
  13. DAAAAAAMN!!!!! That trunk looks small as hell. I'm thinkin maybe 2 10's in there. What do you think???
  14. Oh, and it does NOT have the factory RF system in it. Just the basic stereo.
  15. Ok, here's the deal...My buddie has an 07 Eclipse Spyder and he has $2500 to work with. He wants DVD/NAV in the dash, no problem. He wants 2 12's in the trunk...Is there enough room for 2 DD 3512d's plus 2 Hifonics Bxi1606d amps in there. Remember it's a convertible....I have no idea cause I've never seen one of those cars. He's coming to South Dakota from Texas in Dec. for the install. I can't find any pics anywhere of the trunk space. I need to get an idea on what will fit in there before he comes up here and we find out it can't be done. Does anyone have pics or links to pics of 07 Eclipse Spyder installs so I can get an idea of what will work and what won't??? He don't wanna go too crazy with it...just a nice clean install that sounds good.
  16. Sometimes it's cheaper to keep her....Just be glad the kid ain't yours or it would be an a$$load more. For a friend of mine...without a kid woulda been $350...with one kid it was $1200.
  17. Whats up ya'll??? I've been on here for a few weeks, just never did this. I'm David, 23 yrs old, livin in Sioux Falls now. Just got out of the Army after almost 4 years....Disabled Veteran. I've been into car audio for a few years, but just recently got serious with it. Right now I have a Fusion NV-12 and Fusion powerplant amp, the new ones, wired up at 4ohms I have 550wrms. Good for 143db on the termlab, so I'm not complaining. Not too bad for one 12 in a single cab truck. I'm waiting on a Hifonics Bxi1606d (1600w @1ohm) to get here, so we'll see what it hits after the new amp. Should be good for another 3db, I hope.
  18. Yeah, I'd like to avoid as much bashing as possible. I've learned that the AC ain't worth crap compared to a TL. The shop I got my stuff from has a 280Z as their demo car, when they put the same sub I have into that car, with a Planet Audio 1200D....It hit 145.7 db, but what I don't really get is I heard that AC meters usually read higher than TL meters. If this sub in a car, with more power going to it, measured 145.7 on an AC meter, shouldn't it have been higher than that since it was an AC meter??? I'm hittin 143 in a single cab truck with 550w going to it. Just a lil confused here...Can anyone help me understand this better???
  19. That's the only pic I have of the amp on there. If you want a pic of the amp, I can e-mail them to you. Are you interested in buying it, or just giving me advice on selling it easier??? Just wondering.....
  20. I don't have a pic small enough to fit on here. Pics are on myspace. www.myspace.com/boogerpick
  21. Brand new Fusion amp. Does [email protected]@2ohms.....1500max. Paid $400 new on October 19th, need whatever I can get for it, REASONABLY. I got a new amp, I need to sell this one, plus I need extra money for finals. Asking $300 shipped...Feel free to make an offer though.
  22. I was just askin...not braggin. That was how the owner of the shop I was at in Texas put it in there. I didn't know any better at the time. At a shop in Sioux Falls, where the guys actually knew what they were doing, it hit 143db on a Termlab with the sensor in the floor. That was at 33hz too. How can I tune it some to get a few more db out of it???
