  1. the new house has 2 acres of land basically in the forest. Ive been cleaning up around the place and found a need for a chipper. There are so many branches and small trees 🌳 🌲 it just makes sense. It's capable of doing 5.75" thick branches. I will probably only do up to about 4" at the most though. Anything bigger is firewood! Check out the new toy!
  2. the wife asked me to make her a giant wall clock with Roman numerals. I guess i could have just bought one but it was more fun to make. Made of 3/16” black acrylic (laser cut) and a few hours of design time. It works great and she loves it!
  3. of course i can’t have no wires hanging. I know i am capable of running wires in walls…but i have an amazing electrician and its just easier to have him do it. Plus its another person that gets to make some extra money and i like giving people the opportunity to make some side cash 💵 😎.
  4. These monitors are (3) 32" curved Samsung QLED (144hz 1ms blah blah blah).....it is currently at 7680x1440 and pushed with (2) 2080ti cards. Yes, i want new cards but it's very hard to find 3090's right now.
  5. So the dimensions i gave him didn't include the baseboards....damn. It needs to be a couple inches shorter. But he took care of it the next day! Now it's time to put it together. He made it really easy for me.
  6. i really admired the desk my good bro Bobby Gately made for his office. So i made a mention about how id like to have one. As busy as he is, like CRAZY busy, he was totally up for it. So i told him what i wanted such as a pop out for my steering wheel and gave him some dimensions. This beast needed to be OVER 10’ wide to take up my entire wall. Late in the build i asked for a sliding tray for my keyboard. I had some nice long rail sliders here at the shop just sitting around. So i dropped those off along with more dimensions (for the tray). Came back later to pick it up. He had it in about 5 pieces pre assembled and disassembled for transport. We took it up the hill and pit it together. My dimensions were a little wide so he ended up stopping his day again and fixing it. Anyhow, this office is just taking shape so if you see boxes, cords etc i am still under construction. But check this bad boy out 👇🏼
  7. truck got a little lower in the back 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️😂 It fills back up though when i start the truck (the stock air assist). Still sits level
  8. Of course i have a TON of trim work to do. I don't plan on just leaving a big box sitting in the back, plopped in place. I plan on making it look like it belongs. It already does IMO!
  9. a 700+ LB box by yourself on a Saturday morning? I got this! I got the box in most of the way but it snagged on a Second Skin covered metal bump in the back. I couldn't move it anymore. Since i was by myself, i decided to call in the big guns...aka my beloved forklift. I lifted it just over the little thing i was hung up on and pushed it in. BAM! Done! This port is strong and the way the box is designed i could easily just pick it up and move it around by this spot. It makes me nervous though none the less! Were in!
  10. cleaning up the LED's and making them less prone to damage. Then i will be ready to put the box in. I love all the colors but that red gets me every time! the blue is so ICY though!
  11. today i an finally getting some time to put the box in. But before i do that i need to put a few layers of Second Skin Damp-pro under it. i did some on the sides too. The hatch will need to be reinforced and covered in Damp-Pro as well. This is the stuff i won't be able to get to later once the box is in. Doing this by yourself is fun! not! lol
  12. for those that don't know and most probably don't. Dave, aka Deaf Dave (couldn't hear a damn thing out of one ear and didn't mind we called him that) is the one that built the very first version of the SMD website and forums. Me and him started all of this from nothing. He moved away and moved on a long time ago but still will always be a big part of how it all went down in the early days. 3 weeks ago he told me he had given up on his treatment because he was tired of 6 years of battling cancer. The doc told him he has about a year. I can't believe it happened so fast....damn. I'm still in shock
