To answer your question before you ask...there is no immediate plans for a High Output alternator. I have several in my "boneyard" and i think one or 2 might still be good. That is an option for later. But for now, just a RF punch 1000.1 and 300x2 really won't bother this stock 100a alternator IMO. If it does, we will for sure swap out but i just don't think it is necessary at this time. I'm not against it though! we might! just wait and see. Also, the ANL fuse holder is on the other side of the factory electrical panel. For some reason there is no picture of it. It isn't put together yet anyway since we are not done running the 1/0 at this time. I won't put the fuse in until it's time to fire it up. It's just a fuse, nothing you haven't seen before We needed a place to put a few Rockford Fosgate distribution blocks. I didn't wanna just screw them to the carpet. So i had this old piece of bent acrylic on the shelf from an old project...decided to use it. Found a great spot. First i had to touch it up with some paint because it had some scratches. Some fresh paint and a RF decal. Should look sharp. After thoroughly scraping the paint off with a wire wheel, we fastened the ground cable. That is it for today. RCA's and actual wire from the blocks to the amplifiers tomorrow. thanks for checkin in!

Here is a shot of his ride for those that don't know. My old Oasis 24's with some plasti-dip over the chrome for a nice black on black look. Yes, eventually we will drop it a few inches. One thing at a time please (because i know SOMEONE will say something). We only have 2 hands Give it time. Time for the Big-Three and a 1/0 run to the amp rack. We used XS Power OFC 1/0. We are using Skyhigh 12ga and RF 16ga Speaker wire for the other cables. We are using a Skyhigh Audio ANL fuse holder and Skyhigh Terminals/heat shrink.

Time to move up front and get the electrical squared away. Did i have to put an XS Power battery in a system this small? Probably not. But it's principalities involved here. So why not. A D3400 fits PERFECTLY in the stock location. With the side post adapters, it's just lovely. Available @ http://www.wccaraudio.com of course (cheap plug ). I also slapped on a billet aluminum cover because i have several collecting dust on my shelves. I like the way it looks and so does Antheny. XS Power D3400 FTW. Side Post Adapters work really well. Leave the stock stuff where it is and just add on as i please to the top. Perfect!

this was too fucking funny NOT to share. So this guy is questioning my system...says it isn't 30,000 watts. Starts to break it down for me and concludes that it is about 100 watts. So i naturally look at his page to see just what sort of expert i am dealing with. Get your garbage can ready, this is not for the faint at heart. LOL Read the newest comment at the very top and then click his profile. Now you motherf***r's see what i get to deal with on the daily? And you wonder why i am the way i am sometimes. This is the type of thing that Millions of views brings you. (the video keeps on embedding itself, you will have to click the YT link on it to get to the comments)

A midbass that far back would most likely get drowned out by the subs. If not it would be pulling the sound stage back which does t help for the sound quality. Could be a great place for an extra battery though. Just needs some fab work. the last place on earth i would place a midbass driver would be back there LOL.

to all those people who say "i can't win system of the month because i don't have 8 18" woofers and 40,000 watts"....let me ask you this, if this build was by ANYONE else besides me (because i can't enter) would it be a contender? i say this because me personally, if i saw someone do this build i would vote for it . A bass amp, a mids/highs amp, 2 P3 12's and some separates...not very expensive but it is what you do with it. You don't need the biggest and baddest to have a solid, clean, safe, reliable, great sounding, great looking system. Just gotta put your heart into it and have some decent practice behind you.

Time for the amp rack. Completely fan cooled and i will of course use an SMD TM-1 http://www.wccaraudio.com/smd-fahrenheit-temperature-meter-w-programable-fan-output-smd-tm1f.html to automate them. After beveling the edges of this piece of acrylic, i sanded the edges down from 100 all the way to a wet sand @ 600. I planned on doing a flame polish but forgot....i still can any time and probably will once i run the wires. But it looks good the way it is too Of course it needs a logo. We did the RF logo on the box so i didn't wanna do another one on the rack....perfect spot for the SMD logo. 4 screws with a nice allen head on them look as good as they work. Seats drop down with TONS of room to spare. The fans will ensure the chamber gets plenty of air.

Thanks to Jay next door for layin' down the paint! Came out just like i envisioned it would the grey is color matched perfectly! this is NOT the amp rack i built for that most recent video, this is a new one. Very similar though. Only the face of this box will be seen and ONLY when he takes the screen off. But i still wanted it to look right if he does. High gloss black then a stencil, then a semi (low) gloss grey to match the plastic panels painted over the top. Once the decal is removed you are left with this.

Lexus LFA Supercar - Mega Ultimate Factories (how it was built)
meade916 replied to meade916's topic in Off Topic Vids
it trips me out to hear someone say "ya i can take my $2000 Honda Civic (or insert favorite import) and dump $20,000 into it and have a $22,000 car that does 10's. Well maybe so....but you aint gettin no pussy in that for one, for 2, that is a straight line and would be such a shitty ride it would be ridiculous. The LFA is expensive as fuck but for a good reason. You might want a Lambo or a Ferrari, i don't care, i am just saying there is a reason...that's all. -
I saw this on youtube today and i thought it was pretty interesting. Also you will see why this thing costs what it costs....holy fuckin Carbon Fiber! Damn! V-10 that is smaller than a v8 and lighter than a v6. Fastest production car at Nurburgring, made almost entirely of carbon fiber that THEY weave in house.......tons more stuff not to mention only 500 ever made (and only 500 will be made) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZqJOkHOE6Y In case you didn't see my older video's, i got invited by Lexus a few years back to drive the car for about 30 minutes through L.A.. I had it about 2 hours After watching the video on how it is made, it just proves how crazy it is that they tossed ME the keys. Most people that get invited down only get to look at it, maybe sit in it if they are lucky.

thanks man! The Honda got interrupted by the 72 Chevelle project. By the time i finished i lost my motivation again. Hard to stay motivated on a car you don't drive that just sits there. I'm sure ill either get back on it soon or rip it all out and sell the car. I have too many pink slips to deal with i am getting tired of having all these cars taking up space. I say you give me a price on it ( with everything in it ) and we'll come back down from maine and pick it up! i would consider that except i would feel bad about the price i would have to ask. I mean it wouldn't be retarded but it would be more than the car is worth for sure. Plus it would be a pain for you to deal with the air system. It needs an update...or at least some new coil overs all the way around which would be good too. She does only have 62,000 miles iirc though. Don't we all have systems that are worth more then our cars? I added up what i have in my $2k honda and it totaled about 11k with audio and mechanics stuff. LOL. hell ya but the thing is, with all that shit in your car, it is technically worth even less in most cases. Just like all that stuff i did to the Honda doesn't make it worth more. But i am not interested in selling it so the price i post would be the price, take it or leave it rather than haggling with someone who wants it and them pulling out the bluebook card on you What i am getting at is, even if i know it's not worth $X amount of dollars, i'm up front in asking what i ask and that's it. If someone wants it bad enough though, everything has a price
