  1. I would like to do the deflector as well. It couldn't hurt to have the dimensions and if I feel that it's something I will end up doing wrong then I will just leave it out. I really appreciate you taking the time to give me all this. Thank you.
  2. Thank you Joe X. I have two more questions. How many corner braces are there and do I need to round over the edges of the port to reduce or prevent port noise? Thank you again for your help.
  3. I had a box designed for my Cerwin Vega Strokers by PWK (Pete Kulicki) wanting loud bass and sq. He sent me a design for a t-line enclosure. I don't know if that is because of the vehicle I have or if it's to give me as close to good sq and loud bass as possible. If I have read and understood correctly then sq and SPL don't go together. I enjoy a sealed enclosure. Maybe I'll change my mind after hearing My Vegas in the PWK enclosure, I'll let you know. I have liked sealed because they seem to me to have better sq. I like facing my subs in to the cabin of a car. It just always sounded better to me and I could hear if there was ever anything not right with my subs. Sealed enclosures are good when you are limited on room in your vehicle. I think the biggest problem with them is the lack of ventilation for the sub to cool. As for sub choice the majority of the sound you want comes for your enclosure. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong I would hate to sound like an idiot more than once with this info.
  4. B4ss H3ad, you can put just about any sub you want in just about any vehicle you want. It all depends on how much work you can and are willing to put into it. As well as what exactly you want out of your system. So to accurately answer your question I think you need to let people know what you want out of it.... Then people can give you more helpful information.
  5. On the enclosure design Posted on here by Joe X, I see there are corner braces in there.... What are the width measurements for those?
  6. 43" wide, 43" from the hatch forward, and about 30" high. I would also like to know how you calculate the displacement for the subs as well as bracing. I would really like to know how to design boxes myself but I need something until then. Thank you all for your help!!!
  7. I have been trying to find an enclosure design for these subs I just bought. As I said in the title I have... 2 DC Level 4 M1 15's. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. They will be going into a 2000 Dodge Durango so I have quite a bit of room. Thank you for any and all help!
  8. I didn't just post this just for me. I figured not everyone who needs advise is on a budget. I am but I'm sure people will reply with less expensive H/Us. Thank you to those that have already replied and to those that will reply.
  9. I know in some cases it is a matter of opinion. Some people would just like to have a few ideas as to which H/U's are more favorable. I for one see so many that it's difficult to choose based on an internet search. Forgive me I am sure this is a subject that has been touched before. All I am asking for is a list not a bunch of chit chat. If you have one or more H/U that you really like please leave the make and model along with your favorite feature with each. It would really be helpful to others as well if this or one like it could be easily accessed. I would also like this to keep on subject and to the point so it doesn't become cluttered like many other posts I've seen. Thank you for your time and help with this topic.
  10. I am not sure about the Autotek amps I have heard of people using them and happy with them but I don't remember what they were using them for. What I mean by that is some people aren't into the loud bass so they may not be seeing what someone that is would see in it. If that makes sense. I have been looking for an amp that is rated at a true 3000-4000 watts RMS. The only amp that I have found that has caught my attention that is within my budget is the Powerbass xa-4000D. It was selling on audiosavings.com for $569 with free shipping, but it's no longer available. There are a few other things that you are going to want to consider when buying an amp. Probably the biggest thing is going to be, do you have a good enough charging system as well as power supply. When you get into larger amps (over 1200 watts) you will come to a point when you will have to get larger wires, fuses, alt, battery/batteries. Unless the amp you choose can produce the power you want, without drawing much power. But in most cases when trying to output 3000 watts it's next to impossible to produce on a stock power supply and charging system. At least that is what I'm noticing in my search for an amp. Anyhow... I see that you live in Cortez, I live in Blanding, Utah, and we come to Cortez pretty often. I haven't been to the car audio shop there in a while... do they have any amps there that will produce the amount of power you're looking for? I'm going to have to take a trip out there one day soon to get a couple of things since that's the closest shop to me. Sorry, back to your question... There are a few amps out there putting out 3K RMS within your price range but like I said you will most likely have to upgrade your power supply.
  11. It's been a while but I know I have sat in that same exact spot as you are in your pic that everyone sees when you post something. Is it, "The home of the $1 install" or "We fix $1 installs"???

  13. Congrats... I can understand how you may feel but look at it like... This will put the things you did and tried to teach her into perspective for her as well as bring you two closer. Everything will work out great!!! You also get to be a parent with the option of sending the child home. LOL. Stay positive and enjoy it bro.
