  1. I am a fairly newbie but, the Dayton setup itself should be fine (heard all good things about them too). I believe the question comes in with the amp on them. I think that 70wrms on a 3way may be too little and push them to a desent potential. If you have the 70w and you split it 3ways, you are only giving each driver about 25wrms. That may be sufficient for the tweet and maybe the midrange but definitely wont be getting front bump out of the 8s (wont be enough). You want to look into giving them closer to 100-125wrms and I believe it will definitely raise the volume and sound along with help the staging in your fronts. As for the backs, I wouldnt make a 3way, maybe a solid 2way. Remember your backs are merely to surround you (Dayton 2way). Bostons are good but they do lack that added power that people are looking for especially for the subs. Have you thought of Hifonics, they give you some power without the deep pocket.
  2. Hello Steve and guys.... I am new at this and its my first real build in my '04 Kia Sorento. I have a stock 120amp alt, a Hifonics Colossus Amp and a Hifonics 320w 4ch. My problem is that they dont make an HO alt for my vehicle or I haevn't been able to find one yet. So I was going to purchase an XS Power D2700 to replace my stock battery to run the Sorento and the audio. I don't know if by doing so will help me out even if I do the Big 3? I am a newb so educate me barney style Please. Let me know what I can do since I can not currently replace the stock 120amp alternator. Will the D2700 be strong enough for the audio and truck without killing the stock alt?
  3. I was wonderign if anyone can help me? I have 3 Type R 12s and i was trying to figure out a good amp that I could use for them. I was looking to see about running them off of one amp but 3 D4 12s give me 2.67ohms. SO I would need an amp that puts out over [email protected]. Any suggestions?
  4. I am wanting to properly vent a Alpine Type R1242D, and the data sheet gives you all the info you need for create it. Are the specs provided any good, if I am trying to vent it for both SQ and mid SPL? Have I selected a crappy sub to do perform this task?
