  1. Alright guys, heading out. Gonna come home with brake pads (of some sort), a thing of brake grease, and a thing of anti-seize. Wish me luck tomorrow for when I change the brakes.
  2. no wonder it cures pretty quick in texas during the summer :/ No kidding.
  3. I'm trying to avoid buying everything they try to sell me, cause I dont want to spend more than needed. I want to walk in knowing exactly what I need to walk out with.
  4. I'll be leaving shortly, so I need to know what I need to pick up when I go, so I can minimize the number of trips.
  5. Another few brake related questions. Will I need to buy a tube of anti-seize. Last time I changed my brakes (with the help of grandfather) he said not to worry, but I want to take as good of care as can be with this truck.
  6. No, mainly when gently turning. Not at a full stop, and rarely when driving straight. It's just developed within the last week, especially yesterday.
  7. Well, since I bought it, a little over 1000 miles. Before I bought it, the paper work says around 30k (I think) on the new engine.
  8. Well I'm hoping that changing the brakes will stop the squealing, but if it was just the brakes, wouldnt I only hear the squealing when I brake, not anytime I'm coasting? And another issue I'm having is that the truck jerks to the right from time to time. It started with just the steering wheel doing it without the whole truck jerking, now you can feel the truck jolt to one side and the steering wheel doesnt jerk as far as it did before. What would cause that?
  9. I was going to go to OReilly's actually. Also, my mechanic buddy told me to check the wheel bearing as well, should I re-pack them or just get all new bearings?
  10. So I should just get the cheapest brake pads I can find and call it done?
  11. I think I'll see an increase no matter what. I checked my pads today and they're practically non-existent. Bought the truck used a month ago and just now have to funds to worry about stuff.
  12. My question is this: what kind of brake pads should I get for a 99 GMC Suburban? Last time I picked up brake pads for my Escort, they asked if I wanted ceramic or no and I was wondering what the difference is and what would be best. I dont have a heavy system (or a system at all) yet, but I will be hauling a lot of stuff in the coming months as we move to a new house (as well of tow a car). Also, it's the stock calipers, if that helps.
  13. Are you talking about Subway or something else? Cause last I checked, they werent discontinued. Taco Bell. They had a nice $.99 flatbread, easy and cheap, and wasn't half bad. Another thing I miss, the triple steak snacks. Those were the shit. A heart attack in a wrap, but they were delicious. Main thing I like from Taco Bell if the volcano burrito and nachos. The occasional 1/2 lb cheesy potato burrito. Family only likes to get the 12 taco box. And dad gets tostatas(sp?)

  15. We already tried to get my position back and, since it's on record for theft, they said it's an automatic no. And as for wrongful termination, how would I do that if Texas is supposedly an "at will" state that, according to others I've asked, means they dont even need a reason to fire me. Also, they was apparently a clause in the paperwork I signed when I got hired that I'm not allowed to sue the company for anything at all. Plus, cant afford a lawyer in the first place.
  16. Back in March of 2011, I quit my job because my general manager was blaming me for cash missing. He told me I could either quit and state personal reasons (my girlfriend was pregnant and I wasnt going to be allowed time off) or he'd get the paperwork together and officially terminate my employment. So I told him later that day that I'd go ahead and walk away from it and save hassle. I showed up to turn in my key & uniform and went on my way, feeling good to have all that behind me. A few month later, after everything was settled with the new baby and everything, I started looking around for work. Every application I filled out, I put 'personal reasons' under why I left my last job. Never heard back from anyone, at all. After another few months, it came to light through the grapevine (girlfriend works for the same company, different store), that my former GM was caught stealing money and blaming it on people he didnt like so he could fire them (he obviiously got fired himself). Now we come to about a month ago when I found out from my former supervisor (who is now my girlfriend's supervisor) that it's on record that he filled out the paperwork before he ever spoke to me and put it on the record that I was fired for theft. Now I have no idea what to put down for previous employment because I'd hate to just leave it blank and be caught lying but I also dont think it will go over incredibly smoothly to put down that I stole money. Also, sorry if this is technically in the wrong section.
  17. I'm just glad the longer we cant get them, the more likely they are to come up with a design we may like better.
  18. Well, can you blame them for constantly being sold out? I'd probably have gotten mine by now if my lady wasnt attempting to save up to have spending money for our NYC trip in June.
  19. No kidding. I'd like to get my hands on three. A green, a black, and one for my lady.
