if the subs are brand new, trade them for dual 2's...same cost, and no added expense.

agreed 100%. Power is power...if amp A does 1500 watts at 2 ohm and amp B puts out 1500 at 1 ohm, BOTH do 1500 watts. One is not better than the other, but one will use more current than the other. Doesn't mean amp A is better, but will do same power, just different impedance. Figure amp, and build around that.

What r they good 4 ?

Steve, shoot me an email bro, yea, you'll LOVE it, and yes, you can also buy one tuned, ready to go in from them. thehoe92, I'm on tahoeyukon as well -
IMHO, yes, alot of people sue them in MWSPL class, because they clamp power do between 800-925 watts. Not bench, clamped.

thank ya kindly sir -
The Kicker KX12001 and SX1250.1 will do 1 ohm, even .50 ohm given good current, do GOOD power.

Airraid will help, on trucks, KEEP the stock intake you have. The others have larger runners, but you loose velocity. ( torque) If you guys have any GM product, and it's after 1996, seriously look at Black Bear Tuning. Your GM vehicle has so much torque management it would sicken you. If you get 80%, or 100% of that removed, fuel curve and timing readjusted, more line pressure for a harder, firmer shift, you will see HUGE gains, if you felt gains off a CAI. To explain a little bit on TM ( torque management) what it is, is GM felt the need to go in and take away some of the power the 4.8/5.3/6.0 makes, to soften the ride and power in the tranfer from motor, to tranny, to rearend. If you take off from a stop light, the more you speed up, and the more accelerator you have down, the computer see's that, and pulls timing OUT of your truck. As much as like 11 to 13 degrees! So you all know the <bog> it has, so you push the peddle down more, and it still slowly accels and then finally, after a certain speed it really starts to take off. Well, the 'shock' on your tranny/rearend is over, your moving so it gives the timing back slowly. Now imagine, having ALL that power when you push the peddle down! It's like having a 350 with a 2 barrel carb, then going to a 4 barrel. Black Bear, you can send in your computer, to not worry about the CR (crank relearn) and get a traditional tune. He will make all the adjustments, send you back your tuned PCM, you install, and within 20 miles your truck relearns the new setup, and you get tire burning power back. Get what you paid for in power! If later, you add headers, cam, change gears, whatever, your retunes for your changes is free for life. Just send it in, and pay shipping back. Go to a local place some will charge you as much as $450 for one tuning session. And if anyone has been around GM performance for the last couple years, knows Black bear does an excellent job. PS:" NO, I am NOT a paid supporter, just have searched myself for a bout a year before i let anyone toucvh my Yukon, and it was night and day difference! -

and even that's debateable. If you want to loose low end and raise upper RPM range, they help. The higher (thicker) your plate, the more you loose/gain. I wouldn't ever use a TB spacer. -
great amps, with the DSP, no need for any external EQ...

thanks Tony, I think we BOTH know that's how it really is, but sometimes feeding it has lower ramifications, than most think Ok, Ok...572

IMHO, perfect daily, anymore, all your doing is taking chances...
-
the ZX15001 will have roughly 1700 watts, so plenty IMHO, daily.

sure there is some RF....reason you don't see it everywhere, is most SPL people look for free or next to free stuff, and some older companies realized it's not a huge market anymore to giveaway stuff for SPL comps. Some guys that are die hards, like Randy, pay for it, believe in it, want it, and can do wonders with it. THATS what it's about...but a majority email every manufacture they can, only looking for free product. Trust me, I know. But you won't see me emailing GM asking for a crate 502....would love it, but ain't gonna happen

4 Subs 750 Watts Each Or 3 Subs 1000 Watts Each
Polecat replied to A&W ROOTBEER's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
remeber, lower impedence, alot less effecient and will draw more power. Just a reminder. Also, if you have the room, more cone, plus, more motor with 4 woofers -
by design, no, but can they, yes. I've seen the ZX1500's burp at .7 strapped. But imp rise, and voltage, do have alot to pan into it. Why voltage need? If it was hooked to 1 Ohm it would try to make 2500 W X 1.4 = 3500 Watts. 3500 Watts of audio takes 3500 X 1.4 = 4900 Watts of battery power. If the battery is typical then 4900 / 12.5 = 392 Amps
