Questions on HIDs
Babyjuice replied to Landon75's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
^^^ true that the hids I have are 8k but look like 10k. Idk the brand I have since I.bought mine through one of those guys on the streets that nobody knows and everybody thinks he's the local crack dealer and come to find out he just sells hids on the cheap through his jobs retailers license. So it depends on the brand but a majority of them are pretty much the same -
^^^ sounds like a good idea and then you can run whatever component set You want! Good idea.

I have an 03 f250 has the same speakers and I found some component speakers that have a 5.25 speaker with a tweeter and it all fits on a plate that fits into the stock 5x7(6x8) mounting. I think it was 110 for a set of kenwoods like that off if audiosavings. Looking to get me a pair to test out. Hope this helps.

Ahhh how lame...ok ill see what they have for the sub. Thanks for the replies.
-
Does anybody know if they do recones?
-
Maybe if I could find some more room on the lower part of the box I could run my two re 10s ported? If I move the seat forward I.could get some more room and cuft3 out of it...ill have to get some more measurement. Thanks for the help cc

I was think that if Im using smaller low powered drivers that I could use. .5 inch mdf with some fiberglass. Im just stumped on what or how to do this. I want it decently loud but it seems like that's not gonna be easy to do.
-
Well whatever subs I pick they will all be matching ...do you have any pics of your set up and box? Is behind the seat?
-
Bump
-
Yeah I know its gonna be tight. Im willing to move the seat up an inch or two. I've seen it done by some shops but I want to do it my way and the right way so it isn't hitting the back of the seat and messing up the subs. I know this is probably unrealistic for me to say but im trying to get atleast equal if not more bass from this set up then I am getting with my current one. The set up I've seen behind the seat had 4 jl 10w0v2 I think they are. What fosgates did You use?

So im going for a different route with my truck. Current set up is 2 re sex 10s in a custom center console box running off a hifonics Brutus 2100 at 2ohms with gains turned down. Im over the whole center console box thing because I want my stock console back and its a hassle having to take out the front seats to take out the box so I want to do a some what budget build that sounds decently good. So i'm planning on building a box for behind my bench seat. My rough estimate on dimensions are 18x55x4x7 (HxWxD1xD2) planning on doing a wedge type box. Im using the same amp but trying to figure what subs im going to use I want to shoot for 3-4 10s either ported or sealed(ported preferably ) and somewhat of a budget around 50-70 bucks per sub. Im looking for some sq but also want some spl. I know that's not much per sub but I really want this to be a budget build. Any suggestions are appreciated and or help you make have. Thanks for reading my novel!

yeah I get where your coming from and if I wasn't here for help I wouldn't have asked lol..I do like that idea with the 8s tho. It sounds good and has a realtively small box for 4 subs
-
Yeah airspace is where I'm gonna determine what I'm gonna actually gonna be able to run. I'm trying to get some ideas of subs and I'm definatly going to be taking my time in doing this system...I'm still new at all of this and I'm looking to learn more and get bigger and better as I go. I know I'm gonna make some mistakes but I'm human. And I'm gonna be asking a lot of questions on here before i jump into this.
-
Yes you are right I am running at 2..sorry I had brain fart there...yeah I figured 2 would be better but just wanted to make sure... I really want to run 2 subs but im not too sure yet. Ive read alot of threads on here and I know that there are a TON of companies too choose from. I gonna look into obsidian and see what they have to offer..im kinda leaning more to running a single 15 instead of 2 12s. so ill look into that. thank you for the quick reply.
-
if you were in my situation and wanted to pick what "system" you could pick what would you run? the amp is a hifonics Brutus 2100.1 speakers are stock speakers just ran off the HU ( pioneer 3100 ) the vehicle is a 2003 ford F250 I currently have 2 RE SeX 10s d2 running at 4ohms in a custom sealed center console box that I made using the specs from RE audio/US amps. I want to go ported and possible change subs, I plan on building the box under and into the rear seat. I want it to be ported and sound good(looking for SPL). What I have in mind of doing is running 2 RE SeX 12s ported or 1 kicker L3 15 ported. thats what I have in mind...open to options from you guys in the forum and are willing to take differnt routes with this...I have built boxes before and have some knowledge on how to fiberglass (current box is kerfed and fiberglassed to resemble the curve of a seat). any help and advice is appreciated. I want to get the price of the sub/s around $300 give or take like $20. Thank you for any advice you can offer me.

03 f250 v10 problem
Babyjuice replied to Babyjuice's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
Yeah I'm glad it worked too! It was under 100 bucks to fix(by doing it myself) and it improved my mileage to 9-10mpg and after changing my muffler and moving it forward with less piping I improved to about 10-11mpg and that's. On a v10 with a 6" lift on 35x18s! Thanks for the help! -
