  1. I've seen it go both ways, I've seen many people gain with adding a ground run, and I have seen many people not see a difference with it (such as myself)

I just ended up keeping it though, figured it wasn't hurting anything leaving it in, plus I was too lazy to un-run it

on the money. however there is no such thing as too many grounds.

    x2

have the big 3 done , and just like bre2ts said, a complete circuit can help and also make your mind at ease, so you wont be questioning yourself if you should or not.

  2. dont get me wrong, it is a great amp, very good and alot of people have or still run it.

they do rated but they do not like to go below recommended load.

you can try the aqx line?

they can take a 1 ohm load, and are strappable.

but if i were you, you wont find a better amp for the price!

  3. If you go by how people rate wire size when you double runs below 1/0 .

U subtract 3 from the wire size for each identical run.

    Two runs of 4 gauge = 4 - 3 = 1 gauge

That is technically smaller than 0/1 car audio wire.

Car audio 0/1 is like welding wire 2/0 and is more than 1/0.

Or that's what I've been reading and done some handson research myself.

AWG is AWG no matter what it's used for. Also, don't forget to check what material it is made of. Two reasons to only deal with reputable companies.

    1/0 awg = 53.5 mm^2 cross section.

    4awg= 21.1 mm^2 cross section.

So you're right the 1/0 would have more current handling capacity.

i didnt mean it like that, i meant the way they rate the wire size and all.

car audio rated 0/1 is comparable to 2/0 welding size.

  4. If you do decide to burp it at .5 make sure your electrical is strong or you'll need a new amp. You gotta roll the bass knob real slow to get the most power out of it, It will go into clip mode if you go to fast or get to a certainpoint and go into protect but pop back out without shutting the amp off in about 4 seconds. .5 Isn't so great for music but will still play it, just goes into protect real easy....like I said you can get away fairly good with 1ohms bridged and it only goes into protect if your slammin on it hard at your tuning level. In my case at 1 ohm mine would go into protect right around 35hz and my box was conveniently tuned at 35hz and it pulled so much current before it went into protect, all audiopipe amps are power hungry and my electrical is pretty Damn strong so if you don't have a volt meter get one at the same time and wire the power end into your amp so you get the most accurate reading.

I would be using it for daily. Electrical would be stock alt (140a) and a 4 50ah batteries in addition to the stock one. So not great, not bad.

logan has a lot of experience with the amp, but don't off the bat just drop the load to .5 ohms.

i had one ap3k at 1 ohm bridged, and it smoked even on the electrical i have.

keep it at 2 ohms bridged or 1 ohm each channel if you can.

especially since you are getting this amp off a budget. i dont want you to just waste money.

and itll keep the vehicle you put it in from smelling like "fried amp".

the smell doesnt go away for a long time

  5. You could also just wire one voice coil. Using a resistor would just be wasting any "extra" power anyway.

You don't want to wire just 1 coil of a dual coil speaker, if that's what you meant.

    Noob question; why not?

did you just make an account to ask a question like this?

    read all of it

  6. im looking to buy some 1/0 ofc wire.

need around 10 feet or less.

    will take 1-2 feet runs

would like to have one end already have a soldered/crimped terminal ring for each run! or separate!

    thanks for looking!

    larry

  7. or build what you want with the 6 like a regular wall or under the window line, specs to the skars maybe, so when you swap, no need for a new wall/box and it will perform flawlessly. upgrade power and done.

    x3

    great idea ChevyBoy!

just be mindful if you build it to Skar specs, because itll probably sound funny. and i wouldnt hammer on it and tear up the pioneers. then again, the specs might not be that far apart. i havent looked at the skar's, so im not 100% sure :ehh:

    and x2

look at the specs of both subs

but if i were you, just save money now, sell those pioneers.

wood aint cheap either! especially all the miscellaneous supplies you will need.

then build the box for the skars, look in the forsale section on here and on CACO.

Lots of people are selling skar audio at CACO
