Class Ds should be more efficient, but ABs have the ability to be cleaner.
surprised no one else mentioned A/B amps put out a cleaner signal
my specific reason for this post ...
Not to me, I will never switch to a class d.
I will Always run Linear Power Class A/B amps ...
sorry for not going into details ...
i understand completely what you meant and why you said it
for the noobs
most high end audio use A/B amps for there subs

he wants a sealed off box thinking you need to fiberglass the contour of the roof and sides to make it air tight
but hasn't put thought to making a square box then using exanding foam and a beauty pannel to seal it off
-
You build it with wood ... Screws, and glue
dont be a smart ass, this can turn out to be a good thread. how many people do you know that can actually just JUMP into making a +300lb enclosure and make it safe and secure with no prior knowledge of doing it.
my second box i ever built was a wall in my cavi so its dueable
made base frame n screwed it to car
built floor for wall
screwed that back unflush piece into the rear of vehicle
then used some styrofoam insolation and sealed er off with ductaape
ugly i know but it worked
18" sub in cavi

Who cares?
just sounds like another DC hater to add to the list
Its sad that anybody who says one negative thing about DC, you all think they are "haters".
People on this website is a little to touchy about their beloved DC.
Its ok, not everybody is going to like DC, and you shouldn't expect them to.
its not even just DC, you give any sort of criticism now a days and your a "hater"
its retarted

was needed to be cut
to fit this in
-
i would go with a 15- sup port forward sealed off from trunk
would be easier then an 18
i just went through the whole fitting an 18 in the trunk and it wasnt easy

do you have the sub yet?

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp
have fun...
that calc isnt for noobs

Yes and no. One goal of SQ is to have a somewhat flat sound stage. Say you have 2 Fi 15" Qs in the back on a Sundown 2500D. You would want more mids and highs and more power for them in order to have a flat soundstage.
But, say you have a DC Level 2 on a Rockford P300-1bd. Having 10 mids and 10 highs isnt what youd want, because you most likely wont have a flat sound stage..it would peak because of the mids and highs.
Thats my understanding atleast
explain to him what you mean by "flat sound stage"
