  1. I edited the groups.

Regular members have 30 minutes now instead of 5 minutes to edit their posts.

Supporting members (Bronze, Silver, and Gold members) along with 18+ members have unlimited editing of their posts.

PS: Dont PM me asking to become a 18+ member because that has been reserved to supporting members for a while now (of coarse it is at admins discretion, so becoming a supporting member does not automatically mean you are granted access to 18+).

yea, it sucks because Steve doesn't keep his website in stock.. I sometimes feel as if he doesn't have his inventory in sync.

No, his site is up to date. Inventory is on lock down.

People dont understand how fast things can sell out, and since the majority of his products are all hand made by his employees, son, and his other business associates along with himself it is hard to keep up on demand.

These are not mass produced products made by an employee getting paid pennies on the dollar and being shipped overseas by boat.

To put it simple all of the speaker terminals, fuse holders, RCA's, speaker and other various adapters are made in Cali by 3 people. Steve keeps the machine running and does some other final touches after being machined, branding does a lot of the sanding and assembling, Antheny deals with all things shipping, emails, site stock, soldering of RCA's.

That is a lot of various products in various sizes and options for 3 people to keep up on!

Not to mention he has various other local shops selling his products and various online retailers such as Sonic Electronix, Jet, Wooferwarehouse, and his Amazon and Ebay pages.

Tony and Juan at D'amore Engineering solders all the surface mount components on all the meters and testing tools (such as the vu-din, vm-1, vm-1HV, tm-1 F, tm-1 C, om-1, dd-1, dd-1+, cc-1, im-sg, amm-1, ampdyno-1). These components are all hand soldered and assembled in AZ, not to mention they also have their own business such as DiamondBoxx to tend to as well which again is all hand made by them.

The only thing that is not done in house by this dream team crew are the multiple layer PC-B boards  and plastic housings for the tools and meters because obviously they dont have a giant injection molding machines that cost several hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Just having the molds made for these products to tooled is 20-60 grand.

Of coarse you could 3D print said housings like other wannabe companies, but lets be real here that takes so much longer (your talking 4+ hours for 1 case to be 3d printed when a injection molding machine can pop the same piece out in 15 seconds), and it looks cheap. The low resolution quality of a 3d printed product is poor, nor does it look professional.

These are the old style cables, they are discontinued so you might want to email and ask them if they are in stock, or if they are replaced by the twisted style cables.
I was just barely lucky enough to get all 12 or so cables I needed for my truck to have all matching ones. lol

Weather > guns.  I'll take it

I dunno it gets pretty cold in Cali from time to time, even a few times this year already when Steve said the temp and it was colder there than here in WI.

Plus as far as the weather goes, NC, SC, TX, LA, TX, AZ, NM, FL,MS all nice weather states that dont have Cali laws.
Im sure Im missing a couple decent weather year round states, but you get the point.

  4. I personally dont feel there is anything wrong with background checks, I wish they would be stricter or periodically and automatically ran so less crap makes it through.

The licensing class is kind of bogus.

The first one I did was generic to get my permit in my state, there wasnt even a test, just sit in this class for a couple hours and you get your training for your permit. Its not training by any means!

The second class I took to test for other states actually made you shoot your firearm, and talked more in depth on the laws.

There are too many idiots out there that have no idea what they are doing with a gun, like kids grabbing their pops shot gun making a video acting tough and shooting their ceiling.

One chick I know that has carried for a while doesnt even know how to field strip her gun.... IMO if you cant do that you shouldnt be able to carry.

For people in the Military, Coast Guard, Police, Army, ect I dont feel they need to take any sort of class or training as they deal with firearms on the daily.

I feel like I am missing a ton of content because I have no idea new stuff was added. call it 15% lack of new content icons and 85% me being lazy.

that isnt how it works. it should show new threads under the "browse" tab, just like it always has. just like it did after the update. something happened and it isnt working now.

There used to be a button that said "my content" also

Its really not that hard, and it is how it works...

The features are the same, but some of the names have been changed such as content is now activity.

Mouse over the my activity drop down menu, from there you click my activity streams.

It will list unread content, content I started, content I follow, members I follow, content I posted in.

Its just like before, only layed out differently.

    OR

You can click the "unread content " button that is under the header, which will show you all new content that you have not seen, and you can even change the filters as well.

    OR

You go to your profile and click on "see my activity", it will show every thread you created and threads you posted in.

If that is too much content, you can narrow it down by clicking on the left side of the screen and narrow the content by status updates only, status replies only, threads only, and posts only.
This is exactly the same as before.

update looks sweet but why are the notifications set to send only to email and not actually on SMD, it says the admin has it blocked so theres no way to stop getting emails for every topic youre subscribed too?

I will look in to this right now.

AdBlock notice is obnoxious. I have it in Chrome (disabled for this site) so why the notification?

Because it is obviously not disabled or your running a 2nd adblocker such as Ublock Origin

i get it too and it suggests that I become a paid member....

Even though you are a paid member the site does not detect that and disabling the adblock script.
Just right click on your adblock or go in to the settings and click disable on stevemeadedesigns.com, or whitelist it. Either way it will automatically disable adblock when you are here, but have it enabled on other sites still.
No point in having it enabled if your a paid member.

Yeah I can still find new content, it's just the topics that are at the top of the page no longer have icons showing beside them.

Most likely the icons are not added to the theme, maybe Antheny can sort that one out.
