While I am very happy to hear that there will be a finals location out here, I can't help to recall the money more then a few of us spent to get ready for a finals to have it NOT happen last year. Even the laughlin location left more then a few of us shrugging our shoulders after the event with the amount of attention that was lacking in the event. It doesn't take but a few missteps in planning to throw off the whole vibe of competing in an Org's format.
Dale I think you are doing a hell of a job in taking over for Doug. I honestly didn't think anyone was going to put on a show that kept the energy up like Doug did. Not only have you, but you have done it in your own way to not make it a recycled Douggie show. I hope that you can right the wrongs that I think more then a few people felt out here over the years in DB Drags planning in regards to regional and finals.
I myself have a hard time investing heavily into an org like I once had, to have history repeat itself. I do hope to see some solid changes as I do really miss competing and hope to see something worth investing my time and money in more seriously these next years.

Another thing to consider box aside is just because you have a product that can take X amount of power and another that puts out Y amount of power Doesn't always mean you can hammer on it ALL day. Anytime you have a product playing at these power levels you are going to create heat. And A lot of it. A little common sense needs to play out when you have a larger stereo. Just cause a car can do 140mph, doesn't mean you should do it for the next 500 miles
Also, what may work in one persons system, may not in yours. There is so many variables to everyone's setup

not just for loud people anymore. Bwwhwhahahahahahahahah

dont even touch them i heard the amp boards are from the same place the dat amps where made from and well all knew how those amps came out
as for the subs i have no idea on that but if i know the amps are junk why wouldnt the woofers?
No,
Judging by the pics of the boards they have on their website, those are NOT from the same place as the DAT boards. About a year ago, they did show some designs that looked very similar to the ones coming out of the DAT buildhouse. Those have been long gone now. If you had taken a little time to compare the pics of what they are showing, and what we were using, it would clearly show a difference in design.
It's this hearsay bullshit that gets a company a bad rap before they even get going. You took .02% of some form of the truth and ran off like you knew the full story.
Sorry if it sounds a little rough, but it's people like you who bad mouth a company long before they have a chance to get going in the market. You go and take your hard earned money and try to start something like these guys have. Even if they are picking a design out of a book and slapping their name on it, it is still a shit ton of money to get something like this going.
Maybe instead of people talking shit about a new company, they should embrace the company trying to offer a new product. Because I can tell you first hand that they are doing it for the love of the hobby and not to get rich.

As anyone that has a shitty saw will tell you. It isnt so much the saw, its the fence quality that you need to be concerned with.
I spent 40 bucks for my skilsaw 10" contractors table saw and built a simple table around it . Works great and I have cut countless sheets over the years with it. Cheap saw, good blade and a great fence.

My 2 LVL5 18's do very well in a 4th order. Soon to be 4 of them in a 4th. Overall for most people I would recommend the lvl4 over the 5's They are more forgiving in their application

Slacker! Ive already stripped the trunk, relined it with matt, did some modifications, built the box, got it in, stripped the rex this evening. Should be up and playing tomorrow night lol
Pics of my progress are up on facebook.

It is not uncommon for amps especially one of this size to run hot 120+ in some cases. Sometimes the protection section that monitors heat of the board car have a false reading and cause the amp to protect. OR it may have an issue. I had a batch of DAT 1k's that need a small fan added to the board to blow across the control board. In either case I would have it looked at.

I understand that it sucks that you are at state finals and you don't have your system working right. Shit happens. Hell I have had issues with my system the week before a finals for the past 10 years. So does so many other people. This issue is partly your fault for dropping the recone in and not checking the coils. Had you checked them, then maybe an exchange for the right coils wouldn't of wasted the expense of making and shipping that wrong voice coil recone for you. It's money and time thrown down the drain for both sides.
IMO, posting on here that you were screwed is a complete dick move. Mistakes happen. Making a post knowing full well that the likeliness of any professional response will not happen until at least Monday during their normal business hours does nothing to help the company.
Seams like everyone is so proud to "rep" a brand when their is something in "their" best interest, but god forbid that something does goes wrong because your going to make damn sure everyone knows "I got screwed" huh. Why don't you take a min to sit back and think of what real impact a post like this has on a company before posting. Because a real man of action response to your issue would of been to PM the rep you were dealing with, OR call the office 1st thing MONDAY ( real business hours) and have this issue addressed.

Would have to be at least mid 55s on up could be possible though. Who does 55s out of a trunk though lol
the record in usaci for trunk 1000-up is like a 57 right now but thats a burp and outlaw.
USACi numbers are hard to judge from. While I do like the format, and building something to do well in the kick has it's own challenges, It's too far off and too car dependent to be a usable comparison.
When I get my hands on the car again, I will be doing by best to build something that will help him be the top of his class.

A couple things to consider if you want to get the "big hook up "and buy overseas.
If it doesn't work when it comes in, you are shit out of luck. Of course they will all tell you that they will take care of you before the sale, but will quickly just sell you another at a little bit of a discount.
Shipping from overseas can be expensive. Typically the only way to get a good shipping rate is to order a pallet or more. Anything less goes air freight and isn't cheap.
Anytime you send something TT, you run the risk of never seeing product for what you have paid for. Or you might get something completely different then what you wanted.
And think about this. What are you really going to do about it if you get screwed? fly over there and punch them in the face?

This is NOT something I suggest anyone do without pulling the cone. There is too much of a risk of losing metal savings into the coil gap. After I made the hole, I hit the edge with a black sharpie to hide the bare metal.

Without a doubt Ray is a true competitor. Always pushing his system beyond it's limits. Of course there will be damage as a result. It's this drive that has gotten him from a solid 154 to breakin a 56. Props to him for raising the bar of what's loud.

I added vents to some awhile back. All I had to do was drill into the baskets. I didn't have to pull them from the motor to do it. I have pics I can add tonight if ya need them. Pretty simple process overall.

My offer still stands

I don't think anyone said they haven't heard of Nick doing anything good lately, Just that he hasn't been seen around lately. As I am sure others who know him will agree, He is very talented in his box designs.
can a 15 XL be use to play house music aka hit fast?

Hell Alpine has been the closest one yet.
"tunning" you box higher means you didn't build the box correctly in the first place. My 2 18's ported box peaks at 37hz, plays down to 18hz with authority and will keep up with any speed double kick.
Getting a low tuned box to play the double kick is easier then getting a higher tuned box to play the low notes.
Try turning up the xover on the amp a little. My EQ brings the subs up to 63hz. My midbass comes in at 63hz and plays to 250 then the mids play from 250 to 3.2k and the tw takes the rest. A true dbl kick is in the 55ish range something that 99% of most midbass drivers CAN NOT keep up with. Don't short change your sub range on a bad design. Besides, a kick drum is on average 22" why would you want to reproduce that through a 6" speaker
My 18's will give you a beating. Ask Roscoe he knows
